Week 12 - Anyone had a tough time about now?

Ugh I don't know what the deal is, but it seems the further I get to the end of the tunnel, the harder it is. I binged on food 2x now, and even though it wasn't enough to knock me out of ketosis, I still feel crap.

Although, I am now happily clutching a packet of Dulcolax, and daydreaming of nightfall, (it seems I hit a brick wall re: water, and just couldn't manage enough for a while) my sugarfree strawberry strepsils, and some cream I'd rather NOT go into detail about ^^

Anyone else had issues like this around this time? I've only got 1 stone 3lbs left to lose, it's nuts.

*potters off to make more chicken soup, with a copious amount of black pepper*

Hi flutter.. I got like you... I was getting to the stage where i just wanted to finish... I got to the stage where i felt i HAD to eat, not through hunger or anything, just because i think i had mentally finished with LT.... In week 12 i even ate the night before my weigh in-what a numpty!! That was the lowest loss i had in 12 weeks.. I only lost 2lb, but every other week i had averaged 4lb religiously....

You have done so well Flutter, you can see the end in sight... Don't give up now hun x x x

I go through phases like this every few weeks and I've found just giving into it for that brief moment actually stops me from falling off the wagon completely. I agree, when the brain decides your body needs food whatever the reason its actually very difficult to ignore that primal instinct to eat so by just giving your body a little of what its demanding it frees you up to just get on with it. I swear its been key to my ability to stick with this 19 weeks now, 8 being my previous best.

The main goal here is to lose the weight, if that means a minor deviation along the way its no big deal as long as you get there in the end by whatever means, within reason, is necessary! xx

I tried maintenance...LOL, yeah right I binged...but I WI'd early and realized I got my first gain in 3 days of 4lbs!! so I pretty much ran back to TFR. The OH has said we need to really research the re-feed and stuff, and he'll help me.
I think I panicked about The Great Unknown re-feed/maintenance - and my blender broke and somehow these became insurmountable problems, and yes, after having binged, I definitely have a better realization that the grass isn't greener, and that actually I need to be on TFR now, and get my head back in the game.

Don't panic hun, that will soon come off.... Did you do the refeed properly?

no, I just went a bit mad with food :( oh well
Rather relieved to be back on TFR, just got to get thru the next 4 days...that lil tick on my weight graph is a good kick in the pants! lol

Better luck next time but do your research first or ask on the Refeed or Maintenance forums for advice. It must be really disheartening to suddenly go up a few lbs, I know that I was dreading it but fortunately it didn't happen, I don't know how I would've coped if it had, probably just hit the fridge! I'm eating pretty much what I like now with no inclination to binge......not to say it's never gonna happen though.......

Im in exactly the same boat at the minute. I feel as though I just need to eat real food again. Am seriously considering starting to refeed in the next week or two and then moving to WW for the rest of my weight loss. Im just terrified that Ill start to gain again when I start eating coz 3 days off at Christmas resulted in a mammoth 6lbs. It did come off right away the following week but doesnt stop me panicking.

I did my refeed really slowly (my diary is in refeed section) doing day 1 for two weeks and day 2 for 2 weeks after that I introduced the final items (that i was going to eat) over the following two weeks in the order on the refeed sheet... any way I carried on losing and then stayed the same till Xmas and new year, where I expected and was ok with the 4lbs I gained.

But I did do low gi, and continued to not eat potatoes or White bread... Have not touched these since before Aug 2010

I know that carbs are my problem, so I lay off them and low gi was easy for me to understand and easily maintain as a life style...

You have to find the lifestyle that will suit you after TFR

Hope my waffling helps xx

Joanne, I'd give you the same advice as I gave to Flutterbye. I've been eating for 7 weeks now and have lost another lb but it's probably more than that as my hip replacement (the reason that I had to lose weight in the first place) weighs as much as 11lbs! I don't know exactly how much, I'm just going by the Internet, but see my surgeon next week so I'm going to ask him just so that I know exactly what I've lost since before the op.

I didn't follow the refeed to the letter as I didn't want to eat carbs again at all really, so I stuck to protein and veg for the two weeks. Then I ate whatever I fancied in hospital and have continued to do so pretty much ever since. I don't eat as much bread as I used to but I have had chips and chocolate, just not a lot.......

I plan to start ww tomorrow to lose the final 10 lbs, going to be intreating to see how it goes:sigh:
