Bizarre fat lumps

Just Do It

Hi everyone.

Last week I was so thrilled to feel the weight dropping off I decided to get myself a new pair of jeans as I am still wearing my size 18s which my hubby says look awful cos they are too big. (Yippee)

However, when I went into the changing rooms to try on I was drawn to look at my reflection to study the effects of the weight loss. (We have only got one small face mirror at home).

I was horrified to see that while the right side of my body was looking like it may return to something approaching normalish, the left side resembles the elephant man.

It is quite bizarre, there are lumps of fat just sort of hanging there and in other places pockets where fat used to be. Has anyone else experienced this wierd freakish phenomenon?

Is it something to do with losing it quickly and will the left side catch up with the right?

Thanks
Claire

I have a very strange stomach area now. After two children and both being caesareans this area has never been great but being 7 lbs from my goal weight - it is like a bloated mess! I can't really describe it really - although this area has shrunk - it is so not in proportion to my body!! I have been doing sit ups to see if this will do anything for this area. Will have to wait and see

I've just been speaking to my personal trainer about weird fat and flabby skin (i.e. I want to try and make sure I have as little of possible of both when I'm a new slim bean). He says that muscle groups get used to working in a certain way when you're carrying extra weight, and that when you lose the weight you have to re-train your muscles to work in a different way now you're a lighter you - its all to do with muscle groups balancing themselves out. For example, if you need to work your stomach muscles then you have to work your back muscles too otherwise you won't get the effect you want. Or something like that! I'm no expert and that's what I understood at 6am this morning at the gym! :) It might be worth asking a trainer at your local gym what exercise you can do to balance everything out?

I know!

I travel away a lot and Monday morning is the only time i can almost guarantee that I'll be able to get to the gym, so I block booked a group of 18 personal training sessions before I had a chance to make an excuse! I'll have to be more quick thinking the next time :)
