wii fit?

I don't have one, and I see you've targetted 7st to lose. It will help of course as it is better than no fitness.

I'm sure some of the Wii Fit users will be along soon extolling its virtues.

I have one but am guilty of not using it as often as I should. I agree it's not amazing in terms of fitness but it's better than doing nothing! I've also got the ea active 1 & 2 and again I haven't used these as much as I should, you can use them alongside the wii fit and build up much more of a sweat . Hth x

Wiifit is good if you are completely new to exercise. I love step aerobics and jogging, doing these has give me the confidence to go walking out in a nearby park. I've even started jogging in public which i would never have done 6 months ago.

I agree, they do give you the confidence you need to take steps to doing "proper exercise". I got mine last new years day and had never done any kind of jogging and nor had my boyfriend.

He got really motivated by the jogging on there and started going out jogging to the park and then signed up to do a half marathon. It took me a little longer to brave the real jogging but by the summer I had signed up to do a 10 km race and I did it!! I don't think either of us would have had the guts/motivation to do that if it hadn't been for the initial wii fit 'push'!

I have just been bought a wii fit for crimbo and whilst I realise it will never be as good as doing an exercise class for an hour or a top to toe workout at the gym I have more chance of doing that half an hr every day then anything else, and as others have said is definately better than doing no exercise at all. Hubby and I were on it last night for over an hr and my heart rate was up more than if I had sat on the sofa eating roses lol

If you want to do proper exercise towards losing weight I would not recommend it
x

My hubby bought one for me this xmas. I really love it and it gets me motivated to get off the couch. I agree it's not the same as doing an intensive workout at the gym but anything that gets you off the couch and moving has got to be good, right? :p

Mine's now gathering dust. I did use it A LOT when I first got it. I think the yoga really helped me get through the first week of no smoking. Been about a year since I got it and don't think I've plugged it in more than once in the last year. Quite a lot to pay out in one go as well.

Some of the fitness games, such as EA Active and Just Dance do not require the Wii fit board. They only need the console. Maybe you could try that first and get the board later if you like to spread the cost.

EA Active is very good for toning and Just Dance is good for building up a sweat!

Sound advice yet again from Sillysausage!

I bought one when they first came out..... I sold it last month lol.... it sat there and gathered dust!! walking was much more beneficial! Even the kids lost interest and prefer their Xbox ;)

I do like the wii fit but like the others think it is more fun than anything else, I've started doing more on Just Dance 2, which has a sweat mode and you have to do it every day to get your target for the week and I am rather competitive so will note the scores down and try to beat it the following week.

thanks for the advice! I just got the normal wii and just dance 2, i love it. The dancing is lots of fun so should keep me entertained for the winter! Then when it gets a little lighter outside I'm attempting to start running lol :D x

I have the wii fit but dont tend to use it much, but i know a friend of mine lost almost 5 stone by dieting and just using her wii fit and she looks fab, i prefer games like Just Dance 2 as well as they tend to get you sweating more, i guess its just a personal preference :)
