Alcohol the evening before weigh in

Hi All,

Does anyone find that they have a better loss when they have a few drinks the night before WI?

I ask because I weigh in on a Sunday morning and naturally sometimes Saturday night is spent with a few glasses or wine (which I'm ashamed to say aren't usually synned!)

It seems to improve my loss, it hasn't caught up with me yet and I've been doing slimming world for 3 months so I don't think it can all be down to dehydration caused by the alcohol.

I am a Sunday morning weigher too. When I drink on a Saturday night, I always put on the next morning. I guess it is because when I dehydrate, my body hangs on to any existing fluid so I weigh heavier.

Do you have enough syns generally? Maybe you don't and the syns in wine helps your loss.
 
I usually have all my syns so I'm not sure what the "problem" is. I'm worried there's something wrong with me. It just doesn't seem normal.
 
I weigh in on mondays and drink on Friday Saturday and Sunday :D I don't go mad but do have 4 or 5 vodkas with a diet mixer on each of the nights (10-12.5 syns) - I've lost every week so far ;) I'd love to believe the alcohol helps but it's probably more down to the amount I need to lose and the fact that i'm only 5 weeks in :p
 
I have found this - I'm a Saturday morning weigher (at home) and on quite a few occassions I have lost after having a few glasses of vino on a Friday night. In fact when I've naughtily checked my weight on the Friday, the weight has literally come off in that one day...
Absolutely no idea why though - and I did honestly think it was just me!
 
lol not just you. I tried to search for a thread about it on here a few weeks ago but nothing came up. Very strange. I hope it doesn't all catch up with me when I'm closer to target.

I do slimming world at home so can't ask a consultant either.
 
well i had lots to drink last night, but have to weigh in tonight and i dont think it will help one bit.

What really helps with weight loss is eating the right foods, HEA and B's and keeping in your syns each day! oh and exercise!

I follow the diet to a T usually, my only downfall is the alcohol. That's the only way I ever go over my syn allowance but it doesn't seem to make a difference x
 
My only observation is that perhaps your losses would be even greater WITHOUT the booze?

There is no way to test this theory of course without a time machine and to do both lol
