I'm on seroquel and its totally killed my metabolism. Despite healthy eating for the past 3months, I've lost nothing. So I'm desperate and thinking CD my work for me. Is the rate of weight loss on SS+ the same as SS? How long would it take to lose 28kg? Taking into account that my metabloism is screwed?

Hi Sheepy
Sorry but Im not on CD so can't comment on that diet specifically. I had a short time on seroquel, which didn't suit me, so I changed to another but in the same class of medicines. Have you spoken to your GP/specialist about your weight? He may want to look at ways of helping you lose weight. That may include changing your medication, but I don't know if you've tried that already plus I know sometimes when you find a medication that helps you want to stick with it. I am now finished with all those meds and am in a good place to concentrate on losing the weight so the GP is helping me. If you think you are in a good place to go for weightloss that's great but I would reccommend seeing your GP as Seroquel is quite powerful.
Take Care

4-5 months at a guess. But you'd need to do the diet with your doctor's agreement anyway - no CWPC should give you Cambridge products without this.

It's definitely worth a shot though. Why not go and see your doctor and tell him or her you're thinking about doing Cambridge because being overweight is making you unhappy?

I've been on seroquel for nearly 18 months now, and if you would like to know of my expereinces with this medication please feel free to pm me.

With regards to your metabolism, if you do CD (and any other deit) your metabolism will decrease a little as you take in less calories, but with CD you lose weight via ketosis and fat burning, so i'm not sure how that will work out for you.

What i would advise is that you see your GP to discuss the diet and possibly ask for a blood test for your thyroid to check if its functioning ok.

Sorry i can't be more helpful with CD, but i do know this medication inside out with having researched it for side effects and my experiences and having seen 3 Pdocs about it (especially where weight gain is concerned), so if you want to discuss anything about it feel free to pm me.

All the best.
