Changing my true weight?

This is probably a really stupid question, but I just wanted to run it past all of you wise people.

I have only 4lbs left to lose, but am already at a weight with which I'm happy. I'm slim again and my figure is looking pretty good (got the vital stats back that I've been hoping for: 34, 27, 36.5 - I doubt I'll ever get back to the 21" waist of my early 20s!)

Therefore, I'm considering carrying on with Cruise until Christmas day if necessary and then switching to Conso, even if I haven't lost the full remaining 4lbs.

If I'm happy with that weight, despite it possibly not being the full true weight calculated by the Dukan website, is there anything wrong with me adopting it instead?

For me, it's more important to feel and look right - and vital stats seem to mean more than the weight on the scales, IYSWIM.

Personally I only see the true weight as a guide...we're all different, we're all individuals...and we all have varying perceptions when it comes to our looks and body shapes....

If you're at a weight you're happy with and is healthy for you (can't see your BMI/height details)...then GOOD FOR YOU! :)

stick with it...why push yourself for a measly 4lbs if you're happy right now :) get off the highly restrictive element of dukan and start socialising easier and living life again :) (obviously within dukan rules )

well done for reaching a happy place :) x

I for one am delighted that you're feeling good in yourself, and slim, and ready to move onto the next stage IRRESPECTIVE of what the scales say... (I see you weigh less than 8 stone 7lbs, but can't recall your height offhand, but do remember discussing your low target with you at the outset.)

So... onto Conso? I know you've been looking into it already, which is great... are you "ready" to start?

start socialising easier and living life again :) (obviously within dukan rules )
Absolutely... not the ideal time of year with all the temptations around, mind, so vigilance once out of ketosis will be key...

Well done!

Agree with the others. Most important is that you're happy with your weight/BMI.

Enjoy conso, just remember that it's PV days with a small amount of extras (and PP on Thursday) so a little cheese/bread/fruit.

Make sure you don't overdo the gala meals - don't have second helpings and don't make the meal last all day!

Best of luck!

4lbs isnt going to make you a size smaller, if your clothes fit now and you're happy WELL DONE!

Good luck with cruise, be sure to tell us all about it.

Thanks so much, everyone! Because I'm such a stickler and so determined when it comes to getting diets right, I had worried that not achieving the weight on the Dukan site might mess up the whole thing!

I'm only 5' 2", with a small-boned frame, so whilst 8st 5lbs might seem light to others, it looks right on me. I think my BMI on the ticker site last time I looked was something like 21.4, which sounds pretty healthy. I look slim now, but certainly not skeletal, thank goodness!

Joanne - The temptations do worry me. That's why I think I'll stick to Cruise until Christmas day, which I plan on making my first gala meal. That way, I should have the willpower to restrict myself to meat and veg for the Christmas party we're going to on Friday. It's a psychological thing! ;-)

Laura - please could I check whether you can eat some carbs for the gala meal, in addition to the one carb a week for the first half of Conso? From reading the book, I think you can, but just wanted to check. Obviously, I won't opt for a sackfull of deep-fried spuds in butter or anything crazy like that for my gala meal! ;-)

jaqys - I haven't done a diary before, but think I definitely will for Conso. Not only should it help me, I hope that it might help others, too. Certainly, the diaries of the other Conso ladies have been really good to read so far. Fingers crossed that mine will be as helpful.

Yup, include carbs in your gala meal as well as whatever you fancy that isn't on Dukan's list! So, if you want a mars bar, have one as your pud, for ex. I've mainly had bananas or dried fruit as my puddings, but I'm not much of a pudding person.

The 200gr carbs are just a guide, no way could I eat that much. Also it can be pasta (WM if you can) or something else. Have discovered that since being on conso, I'm not a huge pasta fan (and before Dukan I ate it a lot), so have been having potatoes, rice, couscous, porridge, lentils, soup mix, etc and pasta just occasionally. It's all about finding the right balance for you so that you can (on phase IV) get back to 'normal' eating.

Oh and instead of 2 x gala and 2 x carbs, I did once a week for both but when losing weight (albeit not much) I changed to a small amount (maybe 50gr - half a potato for ex in soup) most days instead which suits me best. It is a bit of a juggling act to find what works.

This is my first week with gala meals x 2, so we'll see how the scales are on Friday (haven't increased the carbs though, that will be the last stage in January then will carry on conso until end Jan - officially will be mid-Jan, but feel happier doing it a bit longer. I suppose it will all depend on the scales!)

That's really helpful, thanks, Laura.

Hurray! I'll be able to have a (reasonably-sized) slice of my choc truffle torte for pud on Christmas day!

Must admit that the idea of carbs is scaring me. I love them (which is a problem in itself), but I also tend to get bloating. I'll definitely have to experiment a bit, I reckon. Introducing them slowly sounds good - maybe some carbs are more manageable than others.
