dulco ease!!!!!

hi all i have been taking dulco ease since sunday and havent really felt great since taking it. just phoned my pharmasist and she said i am probably out of ketosis now:-(
she said its because they are capsules. has anyone else used these? x x

I was using what I think are called 'Dulcolax'. I started using Senakot but found they became ineffective so switched to the Dulcolax and found them VERY effective for the past few weeks..however this week they have not worked at all. It's been over a week since any movement (sorry tmi), but I'm refeeding now so hoping things will naturally improve.

While I was taking them intermittently over the past 9weeks though I don't think they knocked me out of ketosis at any point, but I never checked. I wouldn't worry about that side of it, just keep going as you are, try a different laxative maybe to see if it helps. I found at times that my tummy felt a bit dodgy some days. Sorry I can't be of more help x

I used to take dulcoease regularly on prescription while on LT and it never knocked me out of ketosis or affected my losses. However, if you are taking them and nothing is happening then you are probably retaining a bit of extra fluid as um... you absorb more, makes the stools softer, and if they aren't being eliminated then its still inside you.. sorry, TMI I know hehe.

As for dulcolax, I take those now too but if you take them regularly you can get a lazy bowel and they will stop working. You shouldnt take them for more than a day or two each week really, certainly not on a daily basis. If you stay off them for a bit then they will start working again x

thanks girls.......lipotrim phoned me this evening and said he doesnt reccommend ducloease as they may contain things that effect weightloss. he said fibreclear 2 spoons daily should work or the other thing he said is that i need to split my water up into 250mls an hour and to take fibregel plain until weigh day and they wil give free fibreclear for the remainder of my diet. so fingers crossed something gives x x

Good luck soso.. Constipation is horrible!! I must admit that fibre clear was useless for me, but hopefully, it will work for you x x x

it has been useless for me to....and its not that i cant go its just tooo painfull(tmi) lol. i know for one thing i dont want to stop this diet and if something doesnt happen they are gonna stop me :-(
have a good day guys x x x

I was in the same position hun... I went to the chemist and bought some suppositories, and they worked... I then took psyllium husk to keep me regular. x x

On the poo theme, I'm taking iron tablets three times a day and two codeine-based meds, it's been explained to me by the doctor that both may cause constipation but that laxatives aren't the answer. Apparently you need to make sure that the poo is soft enough to pass and that's a different thing altogether......so lots and lots of fluid and a stool softener but not a laxative if you're straining to go.

Sorry if this is tmi, I honestly didn't know that there was a difference, still doesn't make to much sense to me, all I know is that when you can't go it's agony.....only thing worse is trying to go on a bedpan:eek:

Hey guys, I was thinking of trying the Tony Ferguson Dietary Fibre while on LT, but am jus wondering if I can use it or is it gonna mess my Ketosis up totally..It's really good as a daily intake of fibre..will put the values up too...
