OS : jobs when younger...

Inspired by a comment from Jaqys in a diary, I wondered if you'd care to share:

Always good to have a rubbish job as a teenager, makes one much more ambitious ;)

I had a paper round at 12 (hated that); then worked for a model agency (ha ha!) after school as a general dog's body, which I left at 14 to work as a shampoo girl at a hairdresser's (LOVED IT... but pay was bad...) so at 16 moved to the exciting world of selling tobacco in cigarette kiosks in supermarkets and woollies in several different towns... made a mint!

Anyone else get sent up the chimneys as a child?

lol i remember spending mothers day when i was 9 washing dishes for 8 hrs solid with the big commercial dish washer in my dads hotel ....now thats slave labour

I used to do a paper round 6 mornings a week for the princely sum of £1.80! It still amazes me that my DD gets £5.50 for a Saturday round that takes her less than an hour. Then I used to clean a lady's brass collection for £1 an hour - and her Son used to spend the whole time chatting me up, and helping :D

Not many of us did child labour I see...!

I did a paper round, didn't last long! then worked at the weekend in a kennels, lied about my age, told them I was 13 but still 12 :) loved to dogs, hated the poo!

I picked strawberries, potatoes (seasonal obviously), washed dishes in a pub/restaurant (not for long) and did lots of babysitting!

(Still picking veg, washing dishes and dealing with children 25+ years later:p).

i worked in a chocolate shop!!!
even childs dream, every dieters nightmare =p
everything that was past date or broken we got to take home. chocolate one day out of date tastes perfectly fine. and you cant get better than a £40 box of chocolates with a little dent in the corner for free =]
