can anyone tell me how to cook syn free chips in a halogen oven, ive never been able to make them in the oven so thought id treat myself to a halogen but though they better they not right

I can't help as my SW style chips were not to my liking either. I then became a disciple of the Tefal Actifry. Superb chips and roast potatoes.

I'd have thought a Halogen cooker would have worked in similar fashion? - although the Tefal is described a "dry frying" - the halogen is merely extreme heat (like a microwave?) - i could be wrong though.

I'm sure someone will be along to advise;)

I par boil mine first for 5 - 10 mins, then spray a small tray with frylight, add the chips, spray them and grind some salt. Then I pretty much chuck them in the halogen on full for 10 mins, turn them and then anpther 10 mins.

They turn out ok but I only make them in the halogen if it's just for me. When I'm cooking them for husband, they go in the normal oven.
