Masses to lose!!!

Hi there everyone. I'm a newbie on this site but already I'm loving the support & success shown on here!

I have been trying (emphasis on trying) to lose weight since I was a little girl. This has been unsuccessful and I'm now the biggest I've ever been! :-(

I have to lose at least 11st and although I'm very daunted by this number I still feel I can do it!

I wondered if anyone out there is in a similar situation? Or if anyone has already lost a similar amount of weight (if so super duper congratulations in advance).

I guess I just need to know that 1. I'm not alone and 2. It can be done! Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for listening. CCxx

Hi there, stop looking at the 11 stone...break it down into smaller mini goals. I had 99lbs to lose when I started 12 weeks ago but I could NEVER EVER imagine this being possible. My first goal was to just get a loss. Any loss! With each mini goal achieved it spurred me on.

You can do it, everyone on here is so supportive and will cheer you along

Good luck

Hey cc,
Ur definately not almost alone,i have almost the same amount to lose,am on week 1 of slimfast but will prob have to change over to a vlcd shortly...we can support each other, like cat said break it down into smaller goals and focus on that, forget the bigger picture, its the only way...there's fantastic support in here, lots of like minded people here,i dont feel such a freak after a visit in here...good luck in starting...jen

Thanks to you both for the advice & kind words. Ur right! I've got to break it down into mini targets. Take each day at a time!
It's gonna be a long, hard road but it will be so worth it!

We can defo support each other... U kno where to find me if u need a chat. I wish u lots of luck with ur slimfast plan! My cousin lost 25lbs on it this summer.

I'm loving this site! It's got so many like minded people! Like u say it's nice to kno ur not a freak lol.

Good luck

Hi Cee Cee, I finally braved the scales today (well about 30 minutes ago and broke down) I hadn't weighed myself since having my 2nd daughter, although I knew and could see I was VERY overweight, I saw the proof that I too have 11+ stone to lose to get my bmi right!
Your soooo not alone here, goodluck xxx

oh no you can't look at the big picture, that is one frightening number for a lot of us ! Small increments equal Big success.. good luck and glad you found your way here.. I'm certainly grateful for this site :)

Hi there. I had 10 stone to lose at the beginning, and 12 weeks later on Cambridge Weight Plan I'm down 4.5 stone. I know what it's like to be overweight your whole life, but it isn't an insurmountable challenge.

What diet are you doing/planning to do? Whatever you choose, good luck!

What an amazing loss in such a short period of time - well done you are an inspiration.

This group is a life-line for everyone wanting to lose a few pounds - or many pounds. For me the secret of success is a) be honest with yourself and b) have regular visits on here to enjoy the successes of others. Take care everyone.

You can 100% do it!

For a lot of us who have been overweight for a long time, or yo-yo dieted since we were young, you get into the mind set that your always going to be over weight, diets dont work for you but its just getting our heads into the right place and it can be done! The most important thing is to find the right diet for you.

Im on Exante which is food replacement, I had tried WW and SW and cal counting, they just didnt work for me, taking away the source of the problem (food) is what I needed to do, not right for everyone but it works for me, also I need quick results and food replacement gives that. Over on the Exante section, there are people losing a stone or more in a month, every month! Some lose nearly a stone in the first week alone! And these are people who like you felt it wasnt possible when they started. Im not quite as good... because I keep falling off the wagon, so its taking me a bit longer but the weight is still coming off!

6 months ago I never ever in a million years thought I could lose weight, because I had failed every other time I had tried but Im over half way to goal weight now.

Ahh Hun I kno exactly how you feel. It's soul destroying isn't it when it actually dawns on you. But at least know you know ur at ur starting point... You will never be this weight again!! :)

The same kinda thing happened to me last week. I saw a photo of myself and actually broke down in tears. It felt like my extra weight slapped me in the face!

Thanks so much for the encouragement! Good luck to you too! :) we will get there!! Ccxx

Wow well done guys ur doing so very well!! I've been a sw & ww member so I'm using a combo of those as my plan. The only food replacement plan I have done was slimfast. But u are doing great on yours!!! I bet you feel fab. It must spur you on to see how well you are doing.

Well done everyone & thanks so much for the support! Anytime I can return the favour u kno where to find me. :)

Hi CeeCee. When I started 7 months ago I had 10 stone 10 lbs to lose. Im now more than half way and only have 4 1/2 stones left to go.

Ive tried various diets over the years and always managed to lose a few stones and then it would pile back on again with some more for good measure. Im currently at the lowest weight Ive been since before dd was born and she is 12 now. So believe me, it is possible. I know I still have a long way to go but this time I know Im going to get there. Im not going to pretend its easy - sometimes its a real struggle but with the help of some lovely people on here I keep going and the weight keeps coming off. If I can get this far then so can you.

Id wish you luck but its not luck you need, just the motivation and youve already made the first step with that.

Hi CeeCee, it's DeeDee here !!! Sending you a BIG FAT hug, cos well it's sooo daunting at the beginning of a diet, when all you can see and think about is the big amount of weight to shift. I would look at it for years and think it was impossible to lose again, using every excuse not to start with healthy eating and regular exercise..... I was kidding no one, especially me, and it was a journey in itself to get to that place where I said enough is enough, I will not weigh 18 st + anymore.....

I have no " tricks" or shortcuts for you, and it is taking me forever to slowly drop the weight , but that suits me, well most of the time!!!

I don't need to tell you that you are " worth" it, because if you have decided to start your journey, then you already know it.....celebrate every pound you loose, because each one is special.....

Hugs
