I'm coming to the end of my second week now and have to say that I've found planning is the key. If I had to 'grab & go' I'd be sure to grab the wrong things or spend hours mooching round tesco express looking for something that I fancied and that was 'on plan'! I've started preparing things instead and taking them with me to work. I've made batches of soup, paella, salads etc. I'm lucky to have the use of a microwave so can heat things up but you could use a food flask if that isn't possible. I also take yogurts and fruit with me for snack attacks ;)

Hi. The best things I find are Matessons fridge raiders, they are 2.5 or 3 syns depending on which flavour you have. Great to grab as a snack.
I've also found myself living on batchelors cup-a-pasta's. If you can get hot water? They were 3 for £1 recently. Not sure if they still are.
The tomato and vegetable are free on extra easy and the chicken are 1 syn.

Hope that helps. I'm looking for more though, i'm not sure I can survive on these two for much longer =/

If you can get to a cafe then a jacket potato with beans is always good. Sushi is pretty low in syns too.
Otherwise you may need to go for things like cooked chicken pieces (skin removed, check syns) or ham etc and a salad - the tubs of plain salad no dressing rather than pasta salads etc. Maybe some babybells to go with?

I tend to go to M&S if I can if I want grab & go food - they do lovely fruit salads as well as plainer salads (so no hidden syns) like the new potato and egg salad with an optional sachet of salad cream you can syn.

Hope that helps

thanks guys will write all the ideas down in my lil book i carry with me lol. ive found subway is good as they do salad bowls instead of bread and get to pick your own etc. does anyone know the syn value of mcd's salads?????

As per the planning suggestion, I'd plan ahead and go with Baked potato/beans combo. Failing that I'd pack my own.

Salads can be ok of course but always find the sauces could be a problem - as well as the cold weather lol.
