low syn take away! please help!

Hi everyone. Im new to this site but have already found alot of help and info on here. Im set to join my local slimming world group on thursday morning but i have been preparing my self and gathering information for my first shopping trip. I have a tight budget and 4 kids to fund for. We love our family takeaway nights but i was wondering if anyone knew what i can choose as a healthier option. ie how many syns in a chicken shish kebab?
or any other ideas
thanks ever so much
all help is gratefully recieved
:)

Re: thank you

When you are at group grab the meals for a fiver book, it's like 4 or 5 quid. I've been using these recipes all week and they are fab. All are to make four servings! Try the sweet and sour chicken with greens and beansprouts, only 4syns and it is lush :) good luck xoxo

thanks i will do that. being on a tight shopping budget i dont want to have to buy food for the kids and other half then having to buy different for me that would be so expensive. meals for a fiver sounds good to me lol!!!

I enjoy chicken or lamb shish kebabs, I ask for extra salad instead of the pitta bread and they usually accommodate.

how many syns is the meat? i dont mind not having the pitta anyway. i always get loads of salad but then top it with mayo (eeeek lol) so i will get it plain then add my own extra light mayo at home.
our kebab place does jacket spuds too so maybe thats a good choice in stead of chips.
wasnt sure if the meat was free as i think it is marinated in some seasoning???
:)

I personally count the meat as free as its grilled and all the marinade is burned off just leaving the flavour- though if someone wiser than me knows any different please let me know. Jacket spud is a good choice instead of the chips.
SW is a great plan I hope it works for you Extra Easy is brilliant with a family- my 13month old and 3 year old love most of the recipes:D

Hi! and welcome to minimins! :)
I just wanted to warn you about baked potatoes from kebab type shops because my local (California Fried Chicken) pre-cook their potatoes and then blast them in the deep fat fryer to warm them up for customers!:eek:
xxxx
