Hi all,

I started SW last sunday from a cd I bought off ebay...I think I've been doing it right but when I weighed myself yesterday I was EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!! I am also breastfeeding so apparently am allowed 4 extra HE's, 2 of which shoudl be HEA's, however, I didn't feel I needed them as the others filled me up and I wasn't hungry, so I had 1 or 2 HE's in addition to the normal ones.

Am I right in thinking you can choose either 1 or 2 HEA's per day, and also 2 HEB's?

Plus 5 - 15 syns?

I have mainly been living on quorn, pasta, cous cous, fruit and veg as I have been doing all green days. I must admit, I have eaten shed loads of pasta, but it did say unlimited. Am I doing it right?? I have also had usually 11 syns a day as I have had a kit kat, but nothing else.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Jill

Hi Jill, I'm sure others will be able to advise you re healthy extras and breastfeeding. Which plan are you following? Green and Red days or Extra Easy? I wonder if you overdoing the pasta a bit? I know it's unlimited on Green days but wonder if you increased the fruit and veg anda pared down the pasta a bit if you might see better results? Only a suggestion - I don't have much pasta but do have potatoes and rice and find that I don't get bloated so much. Don't give up though, just tweak it a bit and see what happens:)

I think when it says unlimited pasta, you have to be sensible about it and not just stuff your face until you can't move. Maybe chuck in a few red days to cut down on the carbs, good luck :)

yep it is unlimited, but you have to make sure you are only eating until satisfied and not until so stuffed that you can hardly move.

SW is cleverly worked out so you dont have to count calories, points or weigh foods etc, but at the end of the day if you eat over the amount of calories etc your body needs, you will not lose and may even gain.

Of course I am not saying this is what you have been doing, but is worth bearing in mind.

To throw another thought into the mix - are you sure you are eating enough? You're not eating meat or fish for protein, and quorn is fairly light in calories, plus fruit and veg plus "shed loads" of pasta. Without quantities, it's difficult to judge - what's one person's shed load might be another person's snack!

Also, I don't know what your height and weight are - if you have a lot to lose (and are breastfeeding) you don't want to be cutting down too much - the SW plan can be fairly low in calories and if you aren't eating enough your body is going to hang onto what you give it.

I had the same thing happen to me before, I think it was because I wasn't eating enough. If you are breastfeeding you are going to be burning around 500 calories a day extra anyway. I would eat sensibly but make sure and eat enough. It may just be a shock to your system and next week you will have a big loss, like I did!
