Afternoon everyone :)
I just wondered what kind of exercises u guys all do on this diet? I'm starting properly on ss tomorrow, but I'm addicted to zumba...anyone tried it, it's great! Will I have to stop going if I'm only having ss? What does everyone else do? Really want to succeed this time, list weight on this before but gained it again so want to keep up healthy exercise for when I'm maintaining!! Xxx

I've been using the wii fit (wii fit plus) and my stepper regularly.

And do u feel ok? I'm worried I'm going to faint or something!! :)

I haven't done any yet! I need to start going to the gym though but not sure what type of exercise to do.. Might have to get the wii fit out!

you shouldnt feel faint or weak on ss. i do 13 hours shifts
on ss and use my treadmil and mountain bike
and walk my dog. i never feel faint or weak infact
i feel like i have more energy then i did before.

Aw great!! Rly don't wanna give up the zumba, it's the only class I've ever gone to more than once!! Haha. My CDC told me to start slowly. No matter how much weight I ever lose I can never seem to shift my bingo wings, so swimming pools here I come!! :)

No you won't have to stop on SS but if you are going to introduce an extra exercise introduce it gradually to give your body a chance to acclimatise like with any exercise routine.

VLCDs are recommended to be done parallel to exercise and behaviour modification programmes to boost their long term success rates as other wise they are no more effective than any other dietary restriction plan. Studies have shown that without this 3 part approach the liklihood of regaining is significantly high.

Some studies in the 70s indicated that over exercising increased use of lean muscle mass and slowed metabolism but the study cohort was flawed and the general research consensus seems to be that as long as you don't over exercise (i.e. be foolish and hit the gym 4 hours a day etc) then exercise is recommended.

i'm a mad woman and exercise loads. i've have trained for a half marathon whilst on 810 plan. went up towards the end though :)

basically my gym used to be the following on ss over the week (worked out i was doing 10 hours a week):-

3 x 1 hour classes (2 body pump and a body combat)
2 x 45 min gym sessions and
4 x runs varying from 2.5 to 8 miles in length, over 8 miles and i move to the 810/1000.

at the min i am doing 3 runs of 4 miles a week, 2 gym sessions of 40 mins and 1 body pump class.

p.s and at the higher level i was hungry :(

just be careful and listen to your body.

Are you at goal and how many CD meals do you have a day? Thats an awful lot of exercise.

It sounds like a lot Rumbly but it's still only 45-60 minutes a day of vary types of cardio exercise which is what all the general health guidelines recommend.

what i mean GG is that looking at greatthings weight losses, there are fewer pound lost each week towards th latter stages. Id be tempted to come off cd as paying x amount a week for few weight losses (when a gym will help the rest come off) seem crazy (for me, not great things!)

Was at goal. Had a break from exercise after my half marathon this year followed by cutting the miles and general a lazy food attitude and put some on. Back to it now. Think I would have put more on if I'd not been doing my 3 x 4 mile runs and general other stuff!

Back on ss for a week or 2 at 4 shakes a day!

I'm a bit of an exercise freak! Think I wrote my exact plans and training/exercise in my diary.

Hi

I got hungrier towards the end and had to move up plans. Then I went on holiday and put some on but lost it again and then messed around a bit as I had a few family probs and it was practically hand to mouth as I was visiting my mum in hospital every night for a month. Stressed so was drinking a bit of wine too! The weight loss is slower if you do the amount of exercise I was but I toned up quicker and lost more inches. I had to stop cd's maintenance plan as my iron dropped low, which was exercise based as I upped my miles to over 25 a week.

I found it harder to loose weight this 2nd time after I'd had my boy as I started depo injections (we don't want any more kids) and I think the hormones for me don't make weight loss as easy. Also have pcos! 1st time round after my little girl I wasn't on hormone pills/depo inj as we just wanted to see what happened (we wanted number 2) and The weight flew off me and I went lower in weight.

I would say you need some cardio work and some weight work. Cardio to get you fit and burn some cals and weights to tone you up so that you don't get jelly belly! :)
