Never Give Up
sorry, I have a bit of a cheek coming on here after not being on here for so long and now all im doing is moaning.
I really feel like giving up.

To date ive lost 3 and a half stone, but over the last 5 months, i have been losing the same 3 lbs and then gaining it again. I have resigned myself that I wont be getting down to 11 and a half stone, although I would love it, but If I could get down to 12stone that would be fab.

ive mixed my diet up, ive upped my exercised, lowered my exercise, done a food diary, spoken to a dietitian, GP, Joined weight watchers everything. Nothing seems to be shifting this last half a stone. I suppose I should be happy that I havnt put any weight on, so im still 12stone 7-10ish, but i cant see myself hitting my christmas target no matter how much I try.

Ive also now been put on the pill, so im having to combat all those cravings that go with it! I feel like im on a losing battle!

Sorry, just not feeling my fit, healthy and thin self :(

Don't give up. I know you have tried changing tactics, but have you tried eating normally (but sensibly) for a week or two, and then going back on your diet? The reason I ask is my weightloss slowed a bit, and had some STS's, and then I went away for days. I ate normally for 5 days, and even had cakes! (tut!). Now I'm back low carbing, it seems to have kick started my weighloss.

Quite honestly Kirsty, you have to give yourself credit for staying within a few lbs of what you lost. Keeping weight off is a whole lot harder than losing it, and you have maintained your weight loss, so you deserve a big congrats for that. You could so easily be back where you started, but you are not.

Going forward, you want to lose another stone. You really could do that by christmas if you started now, easily you could. But you have to have your head in the right place to do it. If you are not mentally prepared for it, then you should continue to just maintain where you are, and give it another go when you feel good and ready for it. But think about it, its not easy maintaining is it. You may as well be going that little bit extra and losing that last stone.

Give yourself a christmas present and do it! Just go for it, you know you can :)

What would make you feel good? Giving up now will make you feel rubbish inside but if you can try and hold onto the thought of how good you will feel when you achieve your goal.

Let's face it, putting on weight is dead easy, just stuff anything and everything in your mouth and the weight just piles on.

Losing weight is like climbing up a big mountain, it's a long hard slog and sometimes you will want to stop and climb back down but imagine that when you are at the top of the mountain how wonderful the view will be and how good you will feel.

Of course there are times when giving up feels like the easiest option but you're a winner already as you lost 3 and half stone. You did that and what a fantastic achievement that was. You're beating yourself up because you think you can't go on but try to focus on how well you've done already as 3and half stone is no mean feat and you are to be admired.

Sounds like you're still hanging on to negative emotions that we feel when we're overweight, that we're useless, that we are incapable, that it's pointless doing anything because we are going to fail etc etc

Stop the broken record, you can and you will succeed.

Are you really going to let half a stone get the better of you when you have slaughtered 3 and half stone already! lol!

Hope you can keep going. x

Thanks Ladies.
Well today I'm on five and a half week challenge to get half a stone off to get down to 12 stone and reach the original target I set when starting this journey. Last night I wrote a letter to myself. As mad as it sounds I basically just wrote down how I felt, how far I've come and that the worse thing I can do now is give up. Heck I've been tempted more then once but feel there's got to be some reason as to why I havnt done it and its cos I want it so damn much. I have been trying so hard to shift this last bit but I'm not giving up so easily! X

Fantastic Kirsty. Writing a letter is an excellent way to help motivate yourself. I often write stuff down just to get it out of my head as it were and it really helps.
