can anyone answer a few questions for me?

Hi all,

I looked at doing the CD but the website said it isn't suitable for those with liver disease (I have an auto immune liver disease) Does anyone know why it is not suitable.

I have been following a VLCD and my GP said I would be better doing CD as it has all the necessary vitamins etc rather than trying to string my own diet together.

I have about 6 stone to lose long term.

The other question is that I have read that it is only adviseable to stay on th CD for 4 weeks? Is this correct? If so can you have a break then go back on it or do you do some other plan to lose the rest of the weight?

How much weight is lost on average with the CD?

Thanks for all help

Anne:)

You can only do what is know as sole source for 4 weeks at a time. This is where you have 3 - 4 packs a day (depending on your height) and no other food.

You then break for a week, continue to have your 3 or 4 packs but add a very small meal (from a list provided) normally just white meat or fish and green veggies. It's a very small quantity and is known as the Add a meal week. You do this every 4 weeks.

I should think if your doctor recommended CD then it would be ok for you to do but because you have a medical condition I would think the CD councellor would need you to get your doctor to give written permission for you to do it.

Why not contact a councellor in your area and have a chat.
