Calorie Counting and loving it!

Hi everyone. :)

I'm new here, and can't wait to get to know you all.

I started CCing a week ago (using WLR website) and have lost around 4lb this week (first proper WI tomorrow morning).

My wedding is in 5 months, so really I should have pulled my finger out sooner, but there's no point wishing for the time back, so I'm just going to have to keep my head down between now and then!

Ideally I'd like to lose 3 stone by then, but I know that's a huge ask. But I figure if I aim for that then even only getting 3/4 of the way will be a huge difference to now!

WLR says I should be on 1700 calories a day to lose 2lb a week, but I'm feeling great and eating plenty on 1200-1500 a day, so that's what I'm doing for now. I also go to the gym 3-4 times a week. :)

Goodluck CupcakeMummy! Sounds like you are doing great so far! Will you be keeping a food diary on here?

Do you need to lose weight to fit into your wedding dress or will you be buying one closer to the time?

Despite being with OH for over 5 years and dropping as many hints as possible he's still not popped the question lol!! But I think if you work hard and treat yourself occassionally you'll look so much better and feel so much happier on the day!!

I actually bought my dress about 10 months ago. It fitted me fine then (I was almost a stone lighter than I am now) but it laces up at the back and has plenty of space left if I were to lose more than a stone.

The dress is very big and princessy, it's really only my arms and upper chest (if I say 'armpit-flab' does that make sense) that I'm worried about for it.

But looking better in shorts/bikinis on honeymoon will be a bonus too! :)

Here's my food diary for today. :)

Copied and pasted from WLR so I hope it formats OK (dinner is already included as I've planned it out)

Hi there, I don't think 3 stone is out of reach. I know my weight loss is going to slow but I'm 24lbs down in 9 weeks. I'm feeling tired lately so will up my calories a little (slowly) to see if things improve but I'm on 1000-1200. I went so low as I needed 2 stone off quick to take part in pulmonary rehab, its due to start next week so i'm hoping that 24lbs will do. Will be gutted if I'm turned away!

Your wedding is a great incentive to keep pushing on, especially if you already have your dress in mind.

Good luck

Wow!! Well done!

I love to hear from people who are doing so well, it really gives me hope. :)

Love you name too! I have two cats who I love more than anything.

Hi CupcakeMummy! 3 stone tends to doable in 5 months, all being well, and some hard work. It's once people say they're expecting a stone or more a month that I know they're gonna be disappointed, lol!

Sounds great! yes I know what you mean by armpit flab! Although I've noticed that even quite skinny girls seem to get that so maybe its not too much of a problem?!

Your wedding dress sounds lovely - as does your food diary - think I might have to try the broccolli and leek crispbake - is it like a lattice with the broccolli and leek inside in some sort of sauce?

It's sort of like a veggie burger, cheap and cheerful but a nice little extra for with pasta and salas to make it seem more of a meal.

Also I forgot to add, the strange chocolate button cake thing was me estimating for a homemade cupcake that a colleague brought into the office. I think I might be way exaggerating the calories, but I figure it's better over budgeting for them!
