hello
i am about to start taking Xenical and just wondering if anyone here is/has been on it and what foods you ate. any help/advice would be great xxx

Xenical isn't a supplement. It is the prescription only version of Alli.

Hi!

I've been on Xenical since mid August and only really had any problems when I know I have been naughty. Firstly I have to say that for the 1st couple of weeks I felt bloated and windy but then it settled down as my system got used to it.

When I had my fortnighly treat at the curry house (!!!) I had a creamy curry and shortly afterwards I gave painless birth to an amazing orange oil slick when I went to the loo. It was like someone had poured a bottle of orange olive oil down the loo and it took 4 flushes to get rid of the oil....I know, too much information. And that has basically been the way it is, 99% of the time I notice no difference but when I am naughty (which is rare), I get an oil slick. That shows I generally have a low fat diet and only have a slick after my fortnightly treat.

I think that powers that be are missing a trick or two here though, I reckon that if they put all us fatties on Zenical, they can harness an alternative fuel source through the resulting slicks - how Green would that be!

Alli is available without prescription and I personally found it no use whatsoever whereas Xenical (Orlistat), is twice the strength and only available in the UK on prescription and it is helping, by no means a miracle but it is making enough of a difference to warrant taking it.

Its not a supplement, it works (I believe) by limiting the fat uptake in your food (hence the oil slicks when you are naughty).

I used to be on Xenical and I would say please be careful with it, I was eating a good low fat dient and wasnt seeming to loose the weight the doctor wanted but it was flying off in inches for some reason so they took me off it.

Months after I found I was still having problems in the toilet area and that was when not eating fatty things so I think it must be everyone is different but I would say be careful!
