Hi everyone have just rejoined this forum. Mainly post on the Discovery Health VCLD sites but miss the posts from Isobel and Mike !! Not sure if you remember me either of you but you were both an inspiration to me last year and i LOVED your posts Isobel - we did have a giggle ! I too was going to become a CD counsellor but have had a disastrous year ! Briefly my husband had a recurrence of his cancer folllowing a 5 year all clear but this time it was in his spine. He was admitted into hosp last July and was basically there for 9 months ! He had 7 operations and contracted a serious chest infection in October last year and was in intensive care on a ventilator for weeks. We were told he would not survive and we spent Christmas with him in a hospice ! amazingly he did pull through and he returned home in Marchj and we are gradually getting our lives back together ! Our daughter Kate nominated us for Good Housekeeping Family of the Year and incredibly we have got down to the final 4. Our story and video can be viewed on the GH website under Food then Cheerios and GH Family of the Year !
Weight loss wise it was a disaster - Rob (husband) lost more than 4 stone when he did not need to loose any and I gained 3 stone when I did not need to put on any !! In march shortly after Rob came home I embarked on another weight loss journey and have managed to loose 2 stone on CD. I stuck to ss for 8 weeks then have been doing it Mon-FRi and having a break at weekends. It seems to be working ok - still could do with loosing prob another stone but our time is precious now and feel I want to spend time socialising with Rob and the family at weekends at least ! Rob was actually tube fed for over 5 months so it is a pleasure to see him eat normally again. i am desperately trying to feed him up with high calorie snacks but it is not working very well !!
Anyway am back on track and we are doing really well as a family the children have been brilliant and the support we have received from friends, family and these forums has been phenomenal ! So glad Isobel and Mike you are both doing so well - you really helped me loose the weight before and am sure you are both brilliand counsellors - i even remember you embarking on your training !!
Have just done 5 days on foodpacks and feeling great - we are going to friends on Sunday for a meal so at least I can join in without feeling too guilty !
Hope everyone else is having a good day Gaye x

HI Gaye
What a sad but warming story - I will go and vote for you!
Keep fighting as a family - at least you know that you have done everything you can and you are building up Robs strength!
Good luck with your last stone - in the scale of things it is irrelevant!

hi Debz and Thank you !! Weighed this morning and am really chuffed am now well into the 11s and thought I was 12 something. Seems to be working for me switching from #SS in week and eating at weekends. Would not have done it normally but reaaly feel i need to eat with family at least a couple of times a week - life is too short esp in our circumstances ! I used to live in Lisburn - did my o-levels over there - brilliant place !!

Hi Isobel really great to hear from you again !! I wondered how to access the private diaries will have to get posting !! how is everything with you ?? How are the girls ? you have obviously maintained your weight loss brilliantly - that is fantastic. Are you enjoying being a counsellor ? sorry it is 20 questions but have thought of you often over the last 12 months and have missed reading your hilarious posts !!Any joy with the love life ??
Really chuffed this am was half a stone or so lighter than i thought so feel really encouraged. How do you manage now do you just eat sensibly or do you go back on food packs at times ?
Love Gaye x

Hun - my weight is up and down like the Assyrian Empire! lol It's just such a struggle but I'm winning at the moment hehe! When eating sensibly is too tricky for me, I go back onto SSing - what a lifesaver! lol

All is great with me, thanks for asking! Being a CDC is fab and my lovely Prince Eric is now living with me and my girls - we got engaged a few months back - no date for the wedding yet, but I'm working on it lol! So all is groovy, I'm happy to report - despite the fact that we've all got to go to the kids' school fair today (Eric is running the kitchen lol) and it's pizzing down!! Boo! lol

Well done on losing half a stone - you're rockin and rollin, girl!!!
