Hi Nessa

A great day to start the Cambridge Diet. I started a year ago today, 22nd June 2006.

I think it's a great time to start as it's easier to drink the water and I always feel less hungry in the summer when the weather is warmer. It was lovely to have more spare time, rather than be eating and cooking all the time. I planned simple meals for the children too and left them to eat it.

It was a great year for me. I only regret not concentrating on the maintenance stages better. So would really encourage you to do so yourself. You will see from my ticker that I have put back on but I still feel great and happily thinking back to the day I took the first step.

Good Luck will be thinking of you this week. Give it 100% effort, it is so worth it.

thanks dizzy, what do you mean about maintenance stages?

When you get close to normal weight range (around 27 bmi, I think) you stop sole sourcing and move up the Cambridge plans. Each week introducing more calories and certain foods in the correct order. If you reintroduce food correctly this stops you from piling the weight back on and helps you to learn control of your eating again. People who follow all these steps seem to be so much more likely to maintain the weight loss. Worth doing it first time around too as those who have to do the diet for a second time find it much much harder. Your first time is really your golden opportunity!;)
