Hello there,
I used this site this year to help me shift 5 stones - I've been maintaining for over 4 months now, so time for the next challenge!
I gave up on Friday afternoon and although I have used lozenges, I have been smoke free for exactly 3 days now.
Feeling a bit anxious and a bit down in the dumps, but I am really pleased that I have not given in to any cravings at this point in time.
I am hoping that having used a lot of mental willpower to lose the weight, I won't want to 'give up' on this next challenge - I hope so at least!
Anyway, please let me know if you've any hints or tips!

Wow - 17 months! That is absolutely fantastic!
How do you feel? Did you notice any changes?

Well, Day 4 now!
I'm missing the 'treat' element (although, I realise that it is far from a treat) and trying to find ways around this.
I'm drinking lots of water and actually had a decent night sleep last night, so hopefully, I will start to feel better now.
Still very determined.
I found a really useful resource (Stay Quit), which gets you to do daily tasks - a little like a CBT course - working so far!!!!

Anyway, feeling very positive today - lets hope that it continues.

Well done on the not smoking, are you still smoke free???????

Thank you for asking!

Well I am now celebrating a whole week smoke free!!!! :D

There have been a few moments, when I've missed the usual routine, but to be honest, I have not felt at all tempted to actually go out and buy any - not sure how I would have been if there had been any around though!

I've been using lozenges - try to make sure that I have one every two hours, which helps to keep the cravings at bay.

I feel ever so proud of myself and even more determined to not fall back into the smoking trap than ever.

Lets hope that next week goes as well - I've got one interview scheduled for Monday and two the week after, so I know that worry/excitement will be emotions that I need to watch out for.

Well done a whole week thats fab, keep doing whatever it is you're doing as its working :)

Thank you!
I do have to say that there are a number of fantastic web based services out there - I've been using StayQuit, which gives you activities to do on a daily basis (as well as having an online diary, which you can chose whether to make public or not). Like here, it is very supportive, but specifically aimed at breaking the smoking habit. Activities include, learning relaxation techniques, working out your temptation strategies etc.

xx
