vegetarian harcombe

Aaleigha

soon to be mother of the bride
Knowing this diet works
I need to try again and try harder
I will be keeping a food diary in here as I start
this year I have lost a lot of weight and managed to put it all back on
meds play a part but I need to lose the weight to come off some of the meds
so as from monday (shopping tomorrow) Ii will be doing my stats and jumping back on the harcombe wagon
any other vegetarians around
I even bought my brown rice pasta so I have it ready to start phase one

I have bought the book and reading it so I can have a go. So far the book makes a lot of sense.

I haven't weighed myself yet so don't know whether I am up or down probably up. :sigh:

good luck with your restart H !!!

Here we are with a five day phase one menu plan

somewhere I have read you can now use jacket potato and or oats on phase one in place of the brown rice - so I will be having them

monday
20g oats with nly and cinnamon - that will be breakfast most days
vegetable frittata - will cook too much so I have some for another day
pasta (made with brown rice) with roasted veggies - will cook too much so there is some for another day

snacks will be yog and veggie crudites

tuesday
scrambled eggs with butter no milk
lunch cold pasta salad (using yesterdays pasta left overs)
dinner
coleslaw (homemade mayo) with salad and jacket potato

snacks as yesterday

Wednesday

oats with yog
frittata with salad
brown rice pasta with roasted veg (again)

snacks as before

thursday

yog and oats with cinnamon

egg salad for lunch
jacket pot and home made coleslaw
with more leaves

snacks as before

Friday

scrambled eggs for breakfast

lunch salad with home made coleslaw and jacket pot
dinner frittata

snacks as day one

Thanks for the menu plans I was stuck on what to have as I'm waiting for my book to arrive. Just wondering what NLY you use with your oats? :)

I use total greek yog
on phase one I use the full fat as being a vegetarian the foods are a bit limited
on phase two I use the full fat with fat meals and the 0% with my carb meals
meaning I can have fruit and yog after every meal and for breakfast if I want it :)

Thanks for the reply...I'll definetly be buying some as the oats with cinnamon and yogurt sounds very nice.

I have just had my extremely creamy yog with oats and cinnamon
very nice total greek yog just has to be the creamiest yog you can get :):)

weigh in this morning proves I have undone all the work I have done this year
I now weigh in at 187.4 will do stats on side bar but I am almost afraid to see what my bmi is
I will go for a first target of a bmi less than 30 and take it from there
so my target weight will look high but for a reason - I cant face the full figures just yet

Good luck with your restart, H.

I love your menu plans. Mum could not face eggs or bacon for breakfast so I made her some porridge. I am sure she would love the NLY with oats and cinnamon.

I hope you dont mind me pinching some of your ideas.;)

Pinch away Pam
just tell her (only if she likes them of course) that it was my idea :)
in fact tell her that anyway she might be more likely to eat it if she is being cantankerous

Well I got on the scales this morning
knew it was a mistake and have put on .4 of a pound
I KNEW I should not get on the scales
not feeling good at all today so a good job all food is prepared as that means I will eat what is available and so have no problems sticking to the plan

well no headache today
and food all ready for today
I am sticking to my oats and yog for breakfasts as its so yummy and filling enough

once today is over we are more than halfway there
the diet as in eating to lose weight is still very strong - even though I want to do this for health
so stood on scales and today they are down showing
185.3 so that is a couple of pounds down from the 187.4
I know after yesterdays rise and todays fall its likely to be natural fluctuations but its nice to see a lower number

really MUST remember the multi vit that is recommended as I know I wont be getting all my b vits without my mushrooms and marmite and having had a recent blood test I know my b12 hovers fairly low and as dairy is out and I dont eat meat it becomes more difficult to keep my levels as high as they should be
right off to get ready for work :)

so only one meal and two days left to go
cant wait to get to the end of the first five days - but I might stay with it a little longer this time :)
