I joined slimming world and searched for a slimming world forum and found minis.. so i read every section over a few months before looking into what each of the diets were about in detail.. lipotrim was cheapest and seemed to have good results.. then found a few belfast chemists. :) the rest is history :)

Hey Missy,
Is it cheaper in Bfast? Did u like SW when u where on it?

it's £40 in a chemist in west belfast, i go to a chemist in south belfast and its £45, but they take more time with you etc. I've now started cambridge diet, and the girl is from Antrim but delivers to your house and it comes to £43 including delivery.

I liked slimming world but i over ate a lot, because of the freedom of the green days (as much pasta, potatoes, rice) as u wanted. My portion sizes were huge so when i stopped slimming world i kept these up and the weight piled on.

I intend on maintaining on slimmingworld red days, to control my carbs, and i hope i have learnt my portion size lessons on LT

Well u have dun so so well. Im going bk to sw after.

It cost me £45 per week might look inot sumink else.

Think Exante is were people are going as they're bundles are working out cheap. think it works out 25pound a week. I wouldnt really recommend new you from my experience... as i found it really confusing, as some products are tfr and some are only high protein, but it might be worth looking into for you.. its a company in portadown.

I did LT in 1997 under the supervision of my doctor and lost 2 1/2 stone....I then managed to keep my weight pretty stable until I had a hysterectomy in 2005 then a succession of leg surgeries......result I put on nearly 4 stone due to inactivity and depression, caused by pain. I did WW in 2007 and got back to about 11stone......put a couple of stone back on...... I decided to do LT again as I couldn't bear my body any longer! I wanted quick results in order to be thinner for surgery.

TBH I knew about CD but didn't realise that there were other VLCD out there as I'd never needed them! I don't think that LT is the best option cos it's not cheap and, quite frankly, it's range of products is dire and hasn't changed since 1997! If I'd known about Exante to start with that would be my first choice, particularly at £24.99 a month! But I started on LT and my pharmacist is really supportive so I've carried on. Long term I hope that getting my health back will result in my being normal again.......but I will keep using Exante products for the odd meal in order to maintain.

The one thing that I couldn't do without is you guys! Xx

Thats lovely Sandra...and very honest.

I found LT on the web after I was researching the gastric band operation ( yes, I was that desperate...as if I could afford THAT operation...duh! ) and this seemed the best way to lose weight....and it IS!
What I'm missing is my 'former' body, oh, to be able to go into shops and buy something off the peg from a normal shop....aaaaah...bliss ;)

My sister has been looking into that....but she isn't big enough! she was actually told to go away and put some weight on and then they'd consider her! I can't believe that she was told that. I just can't get her to get to grips with her weight, she's always got an excuse and just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I think that this is a much better choice sweetheart and a lot safer too! x

ps .....it won't be long!

In 2007 a couple of friends of mine lost a lot of weight on LT and so I looked into it. I had already successfully slimmed from 14st 4lbs to 12st 12lbs over a period of 2 years, through high protein, low carb healthy eating - but then my weight loss had stalled. I did LT just for a short while - in 5 weeks I dropped down to 11st 5lbs, but then it was the Christmas period so I used my remaining shakes to help me maintain rather than lose (successfully - I was 11st 4lbs by the first week of January). I maintained fairly sucessfully, putting on around 7lbs which I believe was mainly due to not refeeding correctly (or at least, not correctly FOR ME - IMHO the lipotrim refeed is crap, and I should have eeked it out over more like 4 weeks!) and then I stayed at that weight for over a year.

Which takes us to early 2009, when I had the contraceptive implant, and piled on 2 stone in 1 month, and another stone the following 2 months. 2 weeks later I stop my [very physical] job but don't change my eating habits, and voila another stone creeps on. Suddenly it's Summer 2009 and I'm over 15 stone. I tried slimming world, weight watchers and basic calorie counting over the next year, and the lowest I ever got to was 14st 5lbs - and that went back up very quickly.

My sister had decided to give CD a go and rang me to chat about my experiences of LT, and as I was telling her how fab it was, I suddenly thought 'Why the hell am I not back on it?!' and went to the pharmacy 2 days later.

I have actually swapped to CD now because my consultant lives very close to me (as oppose to having to drive 22 miles each way to the LT pharmacy) and I LOVE their range of products. I have considered swapping to Exante (Sandra - it's £25 a week, not month!) but I feel I 'need' the visit to a person, sort of like 'name and shame' to be weighed in. I daren't cheat as I don't want to let her down! I know that when I am at target weight, I will continue buying about 7 products a week for lunches, and a weekly weigh in when I collect them will help me stay on track AND have me in the ideal position to pick up a few ore products if I've let a little weight creep on and want a week of TFR or 2 shakes a day to get back on track. No letting it creep on without noticing this time!

Course it is.....maths isn't my strong point!
