hi

i am getting married in may in antigua. all of my family and close friends will be there, and we are getting married on the beach.

when i originally booked it i was really excited and imagined myself all skinny and beautiful.

after failing miserably at LL i now have over 5 stone to lose, 7 months to do it and am dreading the wedding more and more everyday. if i can get to a size 16 i think i would be happy. but that would mean losing about 3.5 stone. (god i wish i had stuck to lighter life when i had the chance)

i am going wedding dress shopping tomorrow (more for my mum than me) and i had to call them to tell them i was plus size and to get the massive dresses out!

i hate shopping anyway, and the only time i have worn a dress is in the pic on my signature. so put the 2 together and it will be a day from hell!!

will someone please try and convince me that its okay to be a fat bride!!

Weight really isn't the be all and end all of looking beautiful on any day, let alone your wedding day.

Hair, make-up and outift added to positive energy from within are all important.

You are getting married on a beautiful Carribean island to someone who obviously loves you and wants to spend his life with you, how could you look anything but amazing?!

7 months is approx 30 weeks, at 2lb a week that's 60lb which is over 4 stone. Well on your way to target.
You will look beautiful. Whatever you do, don't regret the photos - it should be the best day of your life so get a dress you love and enjoy it.

Don't worry about the size of the dress and tell the lady you are dieting because not all dresses can be taken in.

You will look gorgeous honey. xx

I completely agree, it's your wedding day - you will look amazing and beautiful regardless of what size you are.

Try not to panic and enjoy it - lots of pretty dresses!! Congratulations and good luck :)

I am confused:confused:

you don't look overweight on yr pics lovey??

xx

SHAPELY and WOMANLY brides look fantastic, sexy, warm and happy.
Don't use the f word!!

When my slim friend went dress shopping she felt like some of the dresses that she really liked and wanted needed more curves to fill them out to look good.

Calm down, have a glass of wine on the way, and be prepared to take advice from the ladies in the shop. You might find them pointing you in the direction of dresses that you wouldn't think would flatter your figure, but they're usually amazingly good at finding people the dress that they feel fantastic in. (After all, if they don't you might go to someone else who does!)

I bet you're going to look gorgeous xxxx

Right. There is no point in trying to convince you about larger brides, because clearly that is exactly what you dont want to be, if it was, then you wouldnt need convincing. You arent happy with your size, and no matter how much we argue that you will look beautiful - you need to feel beautiful in yourself.

I have lost nearly 4 stone and am about to declare target, and thats with 5 months on SW. So now it is your turn.

You have the absolute best reason in the world to sharpen up your mental focus and really tackle this. The best way for you to feel beautiful on your big day is for you to know that you did your absolute best to look beautiful. As Jaylou pointed out, you could lose 60lb or so in the next few months.

Here is what you do. You stick to the plan like glue. You do different themed weeks to keep it interesting and full of variety. Fish weeks, red weeks, green weeks, EE weeks, scan bran weeks, (yes, I know, but they work!!) If you find one of the plans give you better losses, do more of them, but still alter the components from time to time to keep your body on it's toes.

YOU can do this - stuff LL, you need to eat and you need to have a healthy attitude towards your food. We will support you and applaud you when you post your beautiful wedding photos. You have so much time to do this, but no time to waste. So lets get cracking, shall we?

shes a very wise lady that minxyone!!!

Melarnz that was like reading something about myself. I am getting married in April 2011 and have been messing about with stupid diets since january. Actually i've not even been dieting it's all been 'have chocolate and start tomorrow you've still got ages till the wedding' and now its getting close and closer and i have lost nothing.
When is your wedding date?

MLM I salute you, awesome post xxxx

I am getting married next year (October) but have about 4 stone left to lose and I have been advised that I need to get my dress in April - which gives me 6 months to get rid of this weight - or at least as much of it as i can!!!!

I have a plan which is the following:

100%%%%% - every time i would have normally gone off the tracks i think 'DRESS' its like a little mantra.

Come on Minis - the support is amazing.

Focus - if nothing else FOCUS on your dream....you can do it!!! the only person who is able to prevent you from doing this is yourself.

Plan - plan you meals, each day ensure you are following it to the letter - Healthy Extra A and B choices, syns, free foods - lots of water and fruit and veggies!

Exercise - get toning - a little each day, or some every other day....this is going to remove the inches and firm up your body that you are slimming into!

Good luck - from one bride to be to another - WE CAN DO IT! xxxx

I was a size 16 bride, and even now I am smaller, I still look at my wedding photos and think I looked lovely and remember what a fantastic day it was.

Set yourself a realistic goal, accept that although you may not be skinny by the day it doesn't make you unattractive, then really work on getting your head in gear. Work hard at losing a realistic amount but also at accepting that you will be a beautiful bride regardless of size.

You are getting MARRIED! That is amazing. This is not just about 1 day, but the rest of your life- make positive changes for that reason: to live longer, happier and healthier NOT just for the sake of some photos that will end up gathering dust in a drawer

CP I love your wedding pic!!!!! So beautiful, at any size!! Dishy OH too xxxx

I was 15 and half stone when I got married and I think I looked amazing. I LOVE looking at my wedding photos it brings back all the wonderful feelings of the day.

Good luck with your dress hunt, but, don't let it get you down. You can always go again next week, or next month.

Alternatively look into getting a dress made for yourself. I found someone who made mine and it didn't cost any more than an off the shelf dress, it was cheaper than some too.
