I think I have PCOS

I am 95% sure I have PCOs. I don't have regular periods at all, I can go 12-15 months without a period and when I do have one it cripples me for days.

I have been to my doctors, and have had blood tests and a ovary scan. The scan did show I had cysts on my ovaries and my blood tests showed I have high levels of testosterone. However that was it, my doctor hasn't given me any tablets, or any diet plan etc.

Should I be demanding care? What medications should I be asking for? I know I am asking for help on the internet, but I don't like to read too much on other websites as it can be quite scary.

I am trying to lose weight and hoping this will ultimately help my condition.

Hi! That's what happened to me too. I was diagnosed with it and then pretty much left in the dark. You'd be best to ask your GP to see a
specialist who will actually know how to speifically help you, as the treatment will depend on what symptoms you want to reduce etc. There is no cure but there are things to reduce hirutism (sp?) oily skin and the lack of periods etc.
With weight loss I find reducing carb intake helps a lot. I've just been put on xenical from my gp but there's are other ways. I guess just talk it over with your gp to find the best way for you.
All in all. Bug them till they give you what you want!
