Sw and exercise...

Hi guys. Have been doing SW just over one month now and am getting on well with it. However, my weight loss has seemed to slow down over the past few weeks even though I've been very good and have been following the plan 100%.

I was thinking what else I could do and was wondering how everyone feels about exercise and if anyone has had any great losses after starting to exercise etc. If so, what exercise would you recommend?

Thanks guys! x

Well I have started exercising. Not because my weight loss has slowed down but just because I want to be thin and healthy.
Find something you enjoy.
I hate exercising but love swimming and love games like Just Dance on the wii which is great exercise. =)

Thanks very much Lilaloves. I have just bought Wii Fit Plus so think I'll start on that. They're got a great feature on Wii Fit on the SW site. I've heard lots of good things about Just Dance too! Well done on your loss so far =)

Excercise is great, check my signature as that works for me works wonders.
I lose 3-4lbs per week on top of what I normally would lose!

Really Wendy? so say if you lost 2lbs on your own you'd actually weigh in at 5/6lbs less ?! i smell a rat ;) A MASSIVE RAT !

Eugh. Stupid trolls.

Anyway.
Lottie, thats great you got wii fit plus.
Id love to get it but need to space the purchases out a bit and tbh im addicted to JD2 at the minute and wanna play it all the time.
You should join the challenge on the fitness board. =)

Exercise is a great thing to add to your lifestyle, as not only will it improve your fitness and overall health, but you'll get a sense of well-being, and for me, a lower propensity for eating junk!

It WILL affect your weight-loss, but probably in a smaller way than you might expect, dependent on how much you do and at what intensity.

To lose the above quoted 3 or 4 extra pounds a week just through exercise, you would have to burn between 10000-14000 EXTRA calories per week purely through exercise.

To put that in perspective, it would mean running on a treadmill every day for at least two hours at a fast pace (probably about 20k!!!) or the equivalent in other forms of exercise.

In other words, unsustainable for most people. If you exercised sensibly for 30-40 minutes every day and went at it quite hard, you might lose up to an extra 1lb per week on top of whatever loss you get through diet.

Ive been looking into this as well because i dont have a set routine for exercuse
can anyone recommend an aerobics DVD please ?

Davina the power of three is excellent for toning up and it is split in three sections so you can work on each time on the stomach, arms, legs and bottom:)

I have a wii fit and i definatly recommend it. It tells you to try and do half an hour each time your on it. I tend to do the boxing and the hula hooping as my main exercise. It definatly makes me feel better. Im considering getting just dance for the wii too.....throw some shapes without anyone laughing at me!! (well aside from my toddler lol) xx

I made a few playlists and cd's of music that I really like that are 30 minutes long each, and I try and do 30 minutes exercise (to the music - kind of works as a timer) every day. Whether it's just crazy dancing and jumping about or doing sit ups/push ups or just running on the spot... as long as my heart rate is elevated for long enough I think it should be doing me good!

Thinking about getting a wii fit though, they do look fun! :)

I do Jillian Michael's (the trainer from The Biggest Loser) 30 Day Shred dvd - its only 20 minutes long but boy does it make you sweat :D and ache (in a nice way) the next day - love it!
