Hi guys!

Just a wee note, as I've discovered, that almost most of the time, I am thinking about food, or talking about food, or doing something regarding food. I reckon this is causing me major problems with trying to loose the weight. I havent been weighed in the last two weeks cause I'm ashamed to get on the scales cause I have done nothing other than binge eat, I took my other half to pizza hut "just cause" although he thought it was sweet, I was just looking for a fatty dish I think, and then at the weekend, I had another takeaway, I dont know how to stop myself thinking about food, cause if I can stop myself thinking about food in general and get on with my life, then it might aide the weight loss some, any tips from you lovely people would be helpful!

lots of love

Hey Panda

If you are looking to lose weight then it is hard to focus on anything else!!!

If you really cant help overeating the fatty foods then i would ask why? Are you getting more enjoyment out of these foods and if not then is there another reason why you feel the need to be on self destruct appetite wise?

Is something else making you sad?

It could be a bad month, we all have them food wise.

Use the energy you put into thinking about food to plan some good meals and although it will be hard at first you will begin to enjoy your time in the kitchen instead of just grabbing and popping food in the oven

I use music as my aide in the kitchen, put on your favourite tune too, it may help.

Good luck.

Lots of love.

Hey Panda,

Dieting is not hard once you get into a routine, however getting into the routine is the hardest thing.

I know what you mean about thinking about food, and then you start getting desperate and need to have it. I have been there and it is an awful feeling. However once you start differentiating what your mind wants and what your body needs, this is the first step to achieving weight loss.

1) When you eat something, take a moment and think why you are eating it and how much benefit it is going to give you or how it is going to make you feel

2) Once you have done this, eat the food slowly and take your time to enjoy it and taste it, I mean really taste it and think back as to why you wanted this taste

3) Once you have finished, read the label on the food and what you have consumed and think is that what you really wanted. Also I recorded all the outcome in a spreadsheet to remind myself in the future if I wanted something similar and my feelings after eating it

The above steps have helped me to think more carefully about food. In order to get better at this and to give an extra kick start to my weight loss I started my FLP program which greatly boosted this process.

The main thing about weight loss is to not deny your mind and body to enjoy what you crave first before making your mind and body aware of the consequence of consuming such food.

Food is always available and not going anywhere, however our health is something not worth the risk.

Hope this greatly helps you.

Awww thank you both for replying so quickly to me.

In response to the first one, I dont really know why I overeat on the fatty foods, I just do for some reason, it's really odd, I cant help myself. I think I might be having a bad month as you said, everyone has one of those, but I'm exercising more than i normally do, so once I get into the routine it should make my life that wee bit easier.

Thanks for your help, if you have any further tips please let me know

:D

I was exactly the same, thats why I had to go on part food replacement, it was the only thing which stopped me thinking about food as much and also I couldnt fool myself into thinking I would only have a small amount of bad food, then be good and it would be ok, now I know I simply cant have ANYTHING other then what the diet stats (which isnt a lot). Im going onto total food replacement tomorrow to try and get the weight shifted faster as Ive been starting to slip up with my one meal a day, so hopefully total food replacement will get me back on track again.
