Hey guys! just started this new diary to start the week fresh as my other thread was getting a bit messy thanks to my lack of organizational skills!
but i've had 11days to work out how i like to plan this right so i should be able to manage to keep myself tidy this time ;)
For orders sake I am going to start counting the days again & make this 'week 1' of this diary :)

I now have 11lbs to lose and keep off!
:character00115:

Day 01 Saturday 16/10/10

Bfast: grapes (30)
lunch:
grapes (30)
dinner:
baked cod in batter (210)
1.5x pieces scampi (30)
50g chips (98)
tomato sauce (15)
snacks:
ww strawb ice cream desert (88)
eat smart lemon bar (84)

total:
585/700

really fancied fish and chips yesterday but decided to be good and save up my calories then make some at home for my boyfriend & i. worked out to be less than i thought it would be :D and was very yummy & filling and killed my craving - yay!

today is supposed to be a 1500 calorie day. i'm going shopping with my parents and possibly out to lunch hence the high calorie day today (sunday is always a 'treat' day) but will try and pick the healthiest/sensible options if we do! then tonight making dinner for the boyfriend & i again i think (he works all day) so can make something low calorie anyway - will all depend on what we do for lunch though really! :)

hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! xx

Hey Fudgey liking the new diary!! :) food choices sound great!! good on you for doing your own fish and chips hope your having a great weekend :)

oh and trying healthy hun i do calorie cycling too and it depends on the individual, i do it because i like eating more on certain days and less on others so it just helps me to be able to do that, also it keeps your body guessing on what your doing which helps it to juggle up the fat inside and lose a bit more each week... well thats the plan anyway its normally used when kick starting to get things moving again if your weight losses stop or slow down, but like i say its just better for me as sometimes i have my takeaways on my higher cals day and then just have a light snack next day to bring the cals back down again xx

Do you think calorie cycling works better than just calorie counting? i was thinking of trying it out. best of luck to you :)

hiya! i would say for me personally, definitely!
knowing that some days i can afford to have treats or eat out with friends/family makes a big difference because i don't feel like i'm on a diet or deprived. on my lower calorie days i can look forward to a treat during the week on a higher day. i am prone to binging but since starting this diet i haven't had a proper binge once!! and that's a lot coming from me :p
so it depends on your lifestyle and how you feel comfortable - but i like mixing it up because on the days it's easier for me to eat less (because i'm constantly busy etc) i can and the days where it's harder (out with family etc) i can have a treat now and then or higher calorie meals because i've saved those calories on lower days. :D xxxx

thank you hun!! :D love your response to trying healthy too - it is so nice to be able to eat out or have a takeaway and it be part of your diet because you've planned calories out well! xxx

Day 02 Sunday 17/10/10

Bfast: 15g oats & more raisins (66)
65g pouring yoghurt (41)
clemantine (20)
Lunch: 1/2 BLT sandwich (200)
Flavored water (30)
Snack: Doughnut (300)
Dinner: lemon chicken (250) boiled rice w/ carrot & peas (350) sweet & sour chicken (200)
Snack: cadbury animal biscuits (105) festive friends biscuits (200)

Total:
1762/1500
Week to date: 2347

gross gross gross! day started well.. for lunch we ended up just going into a cafe & i got a prepacked sandwich with the calories on the package & i ate half.
then we went to krispy kreme and i had a doughnut which i thought would be my treat as planned to make a healthy dinner.
that went out the window as boyfriend & i decided to go out once he got home from work - we went to a restaurant that serves everything so i planned to just have some chicken & a few chips but they told us there would be a 45minute wait. boyfriend was starving, so he drove us to our favorite.. a chinese buffet (ahhhh)
i was actually very controlled and only went up for one plate and put small portions on. i had a few pieces of lemon chicken, small spoon of some sweet and sour chicken pieces and then 2 spoons of rice. i've had to estimate calories & although it didn't seem that bad when i was eating it i don't have a clue how it was really cooked so who knows!
then we went home and i thought right thats me done, i'm pretty much at my calorie limit..
but boyfriend & i then had an argument and i ended up comfort eating some biscuits. okay a lot of little biscuits :jelous:
so finished the day a bit over at 1762.. but i suppose i under ate yesterday so that partly makes up for it & i'll knock some calories down from the rest of the week!

oh well, today is a better day although feeling a bit rubbish and down :(

Awww hun don't feel down! at least it happened at the start of the week we all have off days! make up for in on other days and you will be back on track in no time! ... what i always remind myself is, on the plan i am with calorie cycling i'm doing the extreme fat loss cals .... so if i go over i'm still well under what i need just to have in the 'fat loss' section :) because im already going well under cals then its ok if somedays or weeks you go over by 200/500cals because you know you'll still lose as your going under ... well under cals for the whole week anyway :) xxx

thank you :) yes i'm just glad it was the start of the week anyway like you said! and it was my high calorie day anyway just that teamed with everything else going on had me feeling rubbish this morning but feeling better now! :D
i think i much prefer my lower calorie days in fact, much less guilt involved for me haha! hope you're well hun thanks again xxx

youre doing so well! :) i wish i had your control lol x

thank you! to be honest with you i don't know where it's come from.. i honestly don't remember a single week or couple of days that i haven't binged and gone way off track for over a year now!! apart from these 2 weeks :D i think the fact that i'm focusing on the week as a whole is having a big impact. i used to think oh well i've screwed up may as well eat EVERYTHING IN SIGHT and start again tomorrow (of course repetitive cycle!) but now if i mess up i look at the week in total and make sure i compensate on another day :) i'm sure i won't stick to this forever so making the most of it while i still have that control haha! xxx

Day 03 - Monday 18/10/10

Bfast: nothing
Lunch: 1 slice best of both (91) scrape of Philadelphia light (5) 1 slice ham (20) lettuce (0) & rocket (0)
Snack: 25g country crisp raisin cereal (105)
Dinner: 5 pieces scampi (164) 2 potato waffles (200)

Total: 605/800
Week to date total: 2952

so 605 so far, will update at end of the day with totals when definitely done eating ;) but may have a 100calorie snack or an ice lolly at some point even though i'm really full as had a late dinner. so hopefully not but if i do it's fine as will still be under and saved some cals to make up for yesterday :D so happy about today!

also have some exciting news.. i'm moving in with my boyfriend :p
and i'm going to be in charge of food and meals woohoo  which will be a huge help to my dieting as well as i can make plenty of low calorie meals as i'll do all the cooking/shopping so less temptation around like there is at home with my parents.
i'm hoping to get an exercise bike as well this week once i've been paid so i can start exercising as well and i really need to start drinking a lot more water!!
won't be moving in until november when we both have time off work but exciting and something else to look forward to! :D

thanks so much smirky :D
to be honest i'm not sure how i've been doing it.. and today i've stopped at 605 and tomorrow is supposed to be a 600 day eek but will probably go over tomorrow as been under today. it definitely helped eating late as didn't feel the need to snack in the evening and kept myself busy! but i haven't been doing much today as it's my day off so probably why i haven't felt as hungry plus i had my high calorie day yesterday!!
i'm lazy too and hate the gym, okay i don't hate it but i can't get the motivation or confidence to go  i've been looking at fold up exercise bikes so it's easy to store away, otherwise i wouldn't have the room either!! so hoping to invest in one but they can get expensive and it's an expensive couple of months coming my way (boyfriends birthday, surprise holiday and then christmas ahhh!) but if i buy it i won't want to waste it and might kick me into getting fit as well :p
thanks so much for your support hun, wouldn't be able to do it if i couldn't come here and write it down and get such lovely responses! :D xxxxx

Hi Fudgey, it's interesting reading about cycling your calories and how you are coping. I'm sure I've seen this called calorie zigzagging too ????? I'm trying to do low fat, healthy eating, but feel like I'm about to enter another rut, so I may give this a twirl !!!
thanks for sharing and loads of luck
