I'm mega skint at the moment and really can't afford to get shopping this week but obviously will have to. Now i have plenty of frozen veg and i have pots and will buy eggs but other than that, what can i buy to eat with the above and still get a good loss this week but is cheap?

I follow EE

YOu can make a paella or risotto with your veg or a veg pasta bake.
Eggs chips and beans, cheese and potato "pie" with veg on the side.
It's a good opportunity to look through the cupboards and use what you have. I'm currently emptying my freezers and getting a bit creative with storecupboard ingredients.

Also, if you have a look on the SW website there's a student section with cheap meal planners.

what about looking in the 'reduced' section of the meat counter for some lean meat? anything thats reduced could be bunged in the freezer straight away and defrosted as and when you need it in the week? tip - go as late as possible to your local supermarket so you get it for next to nothing!

Dal is mega cheap. 250g red lentils, 750ml stock, 1tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp chilli. Chuck it all in a pan and boil for 15-20 mins.

Otherwise bean chilli is cheap and filling, good jacket potato filler.

Are supermarkets doing stew packs yet? You can get massive packs of root veggies for a quid and it makes enough for 8 or so portions.

Each week I cook a whole chicken in the slow cooker, (get rid of the skin and juices) and pick all the meat off the chicken. The meat literally falls off the bones so you can get pretty much every scrap of meat for your money.

So for around £3 you get a huge plate of chicken you can use to make loaded potato skins, curries, omelettes, pitta wraps.... the list goes on!

i always do green when skint!!

I make a massive ratatoullie and freeze it , its so versistile , I have it with pasta , on jacket spuds , as a sauce for chicken etc ... yum

chop 2 onions and 2-3 peppers ( I like red ) , place in a pan with 1/2 a pint of stock made with chicken bovril , bring to boil and simmer for 5 mins .
Add 2 chopped aubergines , and 2 large chopped courgettes , 4 tins of tomatoes , some garlic , 2 tsp mixed herbs , black pepper and salt and simmer for 15 mins :) simple . I sometimes add mushrooms and sweetcorn too ..... it is yummy and there is tons of superfree in there too
