Chicken Breast & Vegetables

Bake the chicken, steam the veg i had asparagus, broccali, runner beans, & carrots (didn't realise carrots are not allowed) small amount of instant gravy (not to much though)

Beef Bolognaise & Roast Vegetable

Dry fry small portion of lean mince, onion & garlic, add a small amount of dolmio sauce, roast the veg i had courgettes, asparagus, onion, mushrooms - lovely very filling !!

Mushroom Omelette & Salad

steam mushrooms (leave to one side)spray frying pan with few squirts of 1 cal spray, beat 2x eggs & dash of milk, put beaten eggs in pan add mushrooms & seasonong S&P, serve with a salad i had mixed lettuce, spring onions, tomatoes, cucumber.

Prawn Stirfry

Few sprays of 1 cal spray in wok place ingredients (i had ready made stirfry mix from sainsburys) add some coriander, garlic, chilli , chinese five spice & light soy sauce to taste - lovely

carrots are not allowed?? I only started today, I am following the working solution plan but didnt know that there are certain fods I cant have? I just made sure my dinner was under 400cals this eve, though I had done really well aghhh!!
 
Im confused.Can we have unlimited veg or do we have to be more cautious.I wasjust counting 400 cals.Any advice would be great. Do we still stay in ketosis on the 400 cal aday diet
 
Apparently... from what I've read, you have to stick to GREEN veg. Carrots are full of sugar which would i suppose bring you out of Ketosis?
 
Have you seen the "helpful list of ketogenic foods" posted by buxombarrister on the main exante thread? It's worth a look, and says carrots, corn and peas are in the higher carb bracket.... I would have thought peas were ok so am going to be printing off her list for when I have to go back to food..... very helpful..... (apparently wine and vodka are not too evil either... wish she hadn't told me that :rolleyes:) lol
