Should I try Xenical?

Hi. My doctor offered me Xenical a while ago. I said 'no' then, but am wondering whether to go back and get some. What sort of an advantage does using Xenical give you - I mean, how much extra weight am I likely to lose? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

For me the biggest advantage is that it keeps you on the straight and narrow diet wise. I am taking Alli the non prescription version but the thought of the side effects means I don't cheat on my diet.

I am also following scottish slimmers (very similar to weight watchers) at the same time and so far (I was doing scottish slimmers on its own before) I seem to be losing considerably more weight, I was only losing roughly half a pouind a week. Since starting Alli I have lost 7 and a half pounds in 2 weeks.

Good luck whatever you decide xx

xenical diverts 30% of the fat you eat,so it doesnt get digested..

you wont have any side effects as long as you stick within the rules, theyre not hard once you know what youre doing.

have a read of the sticky info at the start of this section and see what you think.

weight loss wise,i think it depends on the weight you are to start with, what youre eating, exercise etc..but people are having between 2-4lbs a week losses some weeks less..i lost 17lbs over 3 weeks :)

it isnt just about the weight though,it helps you to make wise choices on the foods you eat, makes you think about what youre putting into your body and if you really want it..

you could go back, get it and give it a try, it cant hurt. good luck :)

it has completly changed my view on food. what goes into my mouth and what i am doing to my body by putting rubbish in..
it also makes you stick to the rules and avoid the side effects

yep ive only been on it 6 days and it makes me think twice about what im gonna eat, its like a deterrent lol

even though im doing the slimming world diet with it, i still am checking the fat contents of things.

ive had no problems so far. its good, the odd side effect im having is constipation if u can believe it lol

xenical isnt a weight loss pill.. i hate when people i know refer to it as a easy weight loss method because it isnt.. its the same as most diets.. your motivation + healthy lifestyle = sucess... xenical has the upper hand because most diets when you stop its harder to get back into a normal lifestyle and routine without regaining or falling into old habits.. xenical changes your lifestyle so that you are not dieting just healthy low fat eating. so that when you stop the "diet (xenical)" you can continue and find it easier.

weightloss is diff to each person.. if youd like to try it do so.. it works different for all of us

goodluck xx

drugs aint good babe

My answer to your question Humblebee is a resounding YES. I tried dieting all of last year but just did not get on well at all, then my doctor offered me Xenical and as I had been on it before with great success I grabbed it with both hands. Since starting at the beginning of July I have lost over 2 stones and over 8 inches off my waist

As the previous ladies have said it is NOT a diet pill it just reduces the amount of fat your body will absorb, if you go over the limit you get side effects so you don't do it again. I just follow a calorie controlled diet, completely changed my diet and have a new hobby, reading food labels :D and it's working, :bunnydance:

I had no idea you had lost 8 inches!!! that is a fabulous and a admiring acheivement, a huuuuggggeeee well done! :worthy:

I find it really keeps me motivated. I usually do really well in diets, think sod it after a couple of weeks and end back up at squre one. I won't eat cakes, biscuits etc as I am too afraid of the consequences. I don't think it's the best way to lose weight as some fats are important eg omega 3 but if you are desperate (as I am) and really need some help (as I do) then it's worth a go!
