hey all
can anyone advise? recently started Atkins and was told by an Atkins follwer that sausages are ok to eat, however, sausages aren't listed in the list of free foods!! im worried that the rusk and other additives will stop me going into ketosis. Are sausages ok to eat, if regular meat ones aren't, what about quorn sausages?
thanks all

Depends on the carb count really, quorn ones are higher in carbs from what I've found.

Hot dog type's, ie frankfurters, are pretty low in carbs...

Best off checking the packet love.

Hi Chubby and welcome

There are quite a few threads on sausages - we all love 'em! But basically most of the supermarket brands are high in carbs (you're right, it's all the non meat stuff they put in them).

Favourites here are -

- Debbie and Andrew garden herbs - 0.2 carbs per sausage
- Mattesons smoked turkey sausage - 0 carbs
- Jamie Oliver Italian sausages - 0.9 carbs per two sausages
- Asda extra special pork and chorizo sausages 0.6 carbs per 100g
- Black Farmer - 1g carb per 100g, so 3 sossies = 2g carb

Happy eating! :)

Susie

And the frozen Lidl ones are good - can't remember the name but if you search for sossie threads on the forum they'll feature heavily.

Hi Chub, and you've done brilliantly so far - you should be telling US what to eat! :)

Milton gate from Lidl are the best. :D
