Complex question???

Not sure if I'm being thick or not!!

We eat out a lot.

I'm wondering if for example I had say a chiken biryani
on a green day which is aprox 12.5 syns
can I knock off some syns if I don't have a
HE B. Or even if I don't have both HE Bs?

Just wondering. Maybe a silly question.
Maybe not allowed. If so how many syns
can I knock off?

Hope it makes sense!!

Thanks. X

I have to admit that I catch myself trying to use this rationale but end up correcting myself. The hex'a are there to help with calcium/fibre needs so shouldn't really be substituted. That being said, on those days when you're out you could always follow Extra Easy on those days which will cut down the syns to begin with. Your 1/3 superfree could be in the form of salad? Or maybe even stick to mainly superfree for the rest of the day otherwise to compensate

I asked my C about this when I had an Italian meal out with cheese sauce and I hadn't had an A choice. She said I could take off 6 syns of the total syn value and that would be my Hex A. You could probably take off 6 syns and use chicken as one B choice but I would only do this where the food you are eating actually counts as that choice. eg. you can't take 6 syns off an apple pie because you didnt have your B choice that day (sadly!!).
