Sick of this

Well I just got made redundant from my job, my weight has ballooned up to 14 stone!!! So I can't actually afford the Cambridge diet which seems to be the only thing that actually bloody works, and my entire family has convinced me that I "don't need it" and that "its a waste of money." I can barely afford my phone and car payments at the moment let alone CD...:sigh:

you sound like you need a hug :( im so sorry to hear you have lost your job, i struggle to pay cambirdge as i only work in a kebab shop and have to put £5.40 away a night to pay for it each week! i get alot of negativity about the diet but i know it works xxx

Aw Kesey.... so sorry to hear about your job :-( As for the family/friends who say CD is a waste of money they don't understand as they think it is just a matter of "willpower" and eating less and exercising... they have a different relationship with/beliefs about food than you have and unless you are brutally honest with them they will never "get it". If you feel your selfworth and self-esteem are worth CD and worth priortising your money in some way to keep you on it then you do that... feeling good about yourself is going to be so important for you at this difficult time. I justify the cost as no more and probably less than I would spend on food normally (including all the junk food). I've stopped buying magazines, bottled water etc, walk for small journeys rather than take the car and am using up all those odds and ends of shampoos etc I have around the place before I buy more.

Good luck xxx
