No... that wouldn't be good for you... Already, only eating veg/salad ingredients 3 (or 4 depending on the week) is restrictive, having any less would be counter productive.

However, never forget that this IS a high protein diet and so, on your plate on a PV day, always mentally divide your plate into thirds. Two-thirds should be protein, and one-third veg.

Don't you like veg/salad? (if the response to this question is "no", then it's a good time to test out new ones and learn to like them... cos "in real life", later on, we'll need them every day!

Veg at brekkie?

IF she ate no veg at dinner...but had it at brekkie (I'm guessing mushrooms/tomatoes Jo)....

Then she'd only be like me...who has no veg at one meal (Breakfast)..... but with a juggled around menu...

I can't see that this would be a bad thing (provided you DID eat veg at brekkie)

:) my 2p's worth :D.... x

you're soooo cheap Sarah... I charge far more for my advice!

Personally, I think it's important to stay close to what resembles real meals on PV days... it's only 3/4 days a week... (and I'm a BIG PP fan, as you know!)

I guess the real question is "are we in this just to lose weight?" Or are we "reeducating our eating habits while we're at it".

I used to weigh 22 stone. I used to hate nearly all vegetables with a vengeance (peas, sweetcorn and tomatoes aside...).

DEBATE LADIES!!

I think this is probably a question poised due to Kirsty being on shiftwork while she's studying :) so I'm thinking it wont be a long term plan :) just something to make Dukan easier for her....but as I say I'm reading between the lines a lot :)

The trouble with PP days, and I'm speaking here through very recent experience as I've just done two on the trot(!), is that we lose lots of (water) weight... which then goes back on pretty quickly (today for me!) when we have vegetables/salads again...

Real vegetables to me are green and leafy... or even orange... but tomatoes I still have trouble considering a veg on their own... I think for one's intestines, some greenery is good... and so just mushrooms and tomatoes aren't going to give the nutrients we all need... particularly on this diet...

I've been doing this forum lark for quite a few years - way before my Dukan discovery - and often people who say they don't like vegetables simply need to try them again cos of childhood memories! (or "get hungry", that's what did it for me!!!)

I was actually a VERY fussy eater at 22 stone. Far more so than now (where I'm grateful for nearly every mouthful!)

ive a feeling a few of us want to shift the weight ...then re educate ourselves!!!! or i did till the last couple of weeks where i discovered the mass weight loss quick is not going to happen but im now happy to stick with 2 or 3lb a week
i hate pv days too they wind me up and i feel in some respects i have too much choice which is not good for me at all
im dreading conso as im not looking forward to bringing carbs back to my diet at all

Fair enough - and that's honest! It really is up to you guys...

I'm living walking proof that it doesn't work though!! And it's the same for every diet alas...

We'll all be here to get you through it Tania :) if you stick with us you'll be fine... we'll all avoid the pitfalls together x

I agree. I think 2 - 3 pounds is healthy; I moan if I only lose one pound, and would be thrilled to lose 3 (especially after a one) but maybe in reality it is better to lose it slowly after the euphoria of the big loss in week one.

Basically we would all like a shortcut or easy option. It's not easy and you do have to have willpower but there is no such thing as a quick fix.

i have been having veg with my brekkie already on PV days - mushrooms in an omelette

but normally i dont get my dinner till late so i thought i could just reverse my day and have veg at brekkie and lunch - just a personal preference - thats all

and i love veg and enjoy eating it but as also said i am very busy in the evenings and time is very limited

oh i totally agree
Im saying at first i think we all want it all to dissapear !!! what we need to think is slow and steady and that is a re education process in its self . We all knows whats the best thing to do but like you say if theres a quicker way to do it we would take it

however i have decided when i reach my goal this time i wont be throwing all the will power out i will be working hard to maintain
