Question for a CDC - Gallstones

poohbearmufc

Longing 2 b a yummy mummy
I have been told that I have gallstones (never had them before CD)... I am in bad pain with them and am being referred to Bupa for them to be removed.

I have been off CD for approx 4 weeks, and started back doing CD 790 about 2 days ago, and I am now in horrendous pain...

Do you think I should come of CD until I have had them removed? I really don't know what to do, but am in agony at the moment...

Any advice would be appreciated...

Love

Give your counsellor a ring in the morning and get him/her to give Gill Walshaw a ring at head office for advice. Also pop and see your GP as soon as you can.

If you were under me I would say move up the programmes immediately and visit your GP for general advice about the best diet to follow while waiting for surgery.

Thing is you may have had gall stones for some time and now you have had an episode the first thing to get the blame is the diet.
Most of the population have gall stones but have no symptoms......

Hugs to you! It really is an horrendous pain. If it's really bad at the moment, I suggest you take yourself off to casualty. They'll give you a lovely dose of the old Morphine. It's bliss.

Gallstone pain can come with a change of diet. Keep low fat for the moment, though I guess you're doing that anyway if you are on 790.

So....get yourself to the hospital if it's too bad. Eat low fat. Consult the person Gill reccomended.

Best of luck too you.

Hmmm sorry if I sounded like I was getting at you Im not.

Gall stones are mostly formed from a diet high in fat..... so do try to avoid anything fatty or dairy too.

Yes, the CD is unlikely to be causing the problem. It's coming off it that can cause the problems. Not necessarily because it's CD, but because you are changing your diet.

My consultant says the gallbladder goes into panic mode if you've been eating healthily and suddenly change.

My thinking was that you need to come off of CD anyway if you are going to have an op!

Indeed KD! You need to have worked up the programmes for two weeks before any op

Mike

Thanks everyone, I will come off it and follow a low fat diet until I have had the op.

How long after do I have to wait to start CD back up?

Yep 3 months after the operation
