'Tinned tuna contains no healthy omega-3 fatty acids FACT

Omega 3 fatty acids in oily fish have been shown to help protect against heart disease. You should aim to eat two portions of fish a week one of which should be oily fish. Some tinned fish such as salmon, mackerel, sardines and pilchards maintain their omega 3 levels however tinned tuna does not. This is because the oils are lost during the canning process. Fresh tuna does count as oily fish and is a great way to increase your intake of healthy fats'

Hmm, I always assumed that they did, unfortunate for me cos Tuna out of a tin is one of the only fishs I like (fish and chips from the chippy doesn't count either I'm guessing) Lol

Do you have a source for the info? Im a massive tuna fan and it breaks my heart to hear its not doing me as much good as I thought!

i dont think canned/tinned tunas have "no" omega 3 fats, but it is reduced due to the cooking process, species of tuna, etc. But, some canned tuna brands have more omega 3 fats than others, just check the label and see which has the most if omega 3 fats are what you're after. From what I know, tuna's in springwater contain MORE omega 3 fats than tuna's mixed in oils.
