how quickly do you lose?

I know everyone will have a different answer to this question, as it all depends, eg if you have more to lose you'd probably lose more each week, but I think my progress is very slow, and I'm getting impatient and demotivated.

I'm 5"7, currently weigh 11st 5.5 (BMI: 25), and I want to be 10 stone (or less, if I get ever there). Since I started in mid-July, I've lost half a stone. I'm pleased that I'm now half a stone lighter, but taking 2 months to lose half a stone is really slow... I wish I could see more progress.

I've been doing EE, is it worth trying Green / Red days?

I wanna see more progress

It obviously depends on the person like you said, but I'm losing about a pound a week and I've still got 4 stone to lose, so pretty slow in my case. I don't do a lot of exercise at the moment though which I'm hoping to address soon. This will hopefully up it to 2 pounds a week.

If you're at the right BMI (22-25) it's going to be very hard losing any more I think. It's all build dependant though, I think the BMI is a bit misleading. At my slimest after my first go at slimming world I was barely down to BMI 25 but it was more than slim enough for my build at a size 13 (awkward!). I tried for a further year and sticking to plan rigidly and exercising loads I only shifted about 4 pounds more. So according to my BMI is was bordeline overweight but I was slim and my body clearly didn't want to lose more. You might be like that. I only had to look at something naughty and those 4 precious pounds went straight back on as I was fighting my body. I gave in in the end and settled for a higher BMI and kept the 4 pounds! Of course now it's a lot more than that but that's what an underactive thyroid'll do for ya! I did stay happily at target for 2 years once I gave up trying to lose anymore weight and just tried maintaining instead.

Good luck getting to where you feel happiest :)

it really feels that way sometimes! :p

my period just came today, it could be because of the bloating and extra water retention that caused my 1.5 pound gain last week... hope this will be gone next week!

Hi dreamaholic, I've been reading your diary and you have been doing so well. You havent got a lot to lose and are continuing to live your life, are eating well and are still losing weight. I'm sure your gain will be lost next weigh in and you'll feel a lot more optomistic. Good luck :)

Thanks Karen.

I haven't got alot to lose but I still want to lose about 20 pounds. I looked at my honeymoon photos and thought - I wish I look that slim again. (20 pounds do make a HUGE difference) But you're right, I should continue to live my life happily.

I know how you feel. I tell myself that as long as the weight comes off I dont care how long it takes, but when I step on the scales I cant help but feel disappointed its not more. Its even worse when theres a gain for no apparent reason (apart from *week, which still doesnt help when you've been 100%:( ) and everyone else seems to lose loads despite the fact they list the takeaways, drinks and lapses they've had. Anyway, gripe over. (made me feel better lol)

This is exactly how I feel every time I don't see a decent loss :sigh: I guess I'll just have to try eating more speed food to try to speed up the loss... and do more exercise... or... just put up with it. slow loss is better than no loss afterall :)
