Is my wedding dress ever going to fit...

Sunflowers

Wants to be a yummy mummy
I went to try on my dress again today... Since it came in I've lost a stone and a half but it still doesn't fit - and I only have three and a half weeks til the wedding...

It's not out by much - maybe an inch now.. But, from looking at the pictures from 10lbs ago, I realistically have to lose that again within the next three weeks..

Considering I'm on an emergency list awaiting a cancellation so I can have surgery on my knee before the wedding I'm a little bit stuffed at the moment... And starting to despair it will ever fit, dont get me wrong - when it first came in the dress didn't do up by about 5 inches.. So to have got it down to 1 inch in 8 weeks is some going, works out at about half an inch a week on average.. So with three and a half weeks to go I know I could get there - but I'm really worried I wont.. I honestly dont want to look as if I've been poured in my dress on the day... :(

I know I can't do anymore than I am doing - and I've just got to let the diet do it's thing, but I'm really starting to worry now.. :(

You can do it Sunflower!! You still have 3 weeks, and they say if you don't lose the lbs you lose the inches, and even if you do lose the lbs you lose inches also!!!

Stick to it 100% between now and then, drink water like you've never drank before (although don't go ott because I've heard its bad for you:( )

Are you still doing SS? I understand your still able to do SS because you are JUST above the BMI in order to go onto 790. Not 100% about that, but if allowed could you go to SS just for the 3 weeks?

Don't give up faith, in 3 weeks time you'll be in that wedding dress! x

I really struggled with SS, as in REALLY struggled..

So I'm on 790 - which the losses are still great for and I get to keep my sanity (as does h2b) - always useful in the run up to the wedding!!

I'm just looking forward to the day it fits and I can finally RELAX and know I'm going to look good - the pressure is unbelieveable..

From what I've read though, 790 works just as well as SS. I think I'm going to move up to it soon.

I can't begin to imagine everything you have to go through with the wedding, so much to do and organise. Try not to worry too much about fitting into your dress though anything can happen in 3 weeks time, sticking to 790 will give you the results you want I'm sure. You've worked so hard, you deserve it!

You probably haven't enough time at all but have you thought about that horrible swear word...exercise? (something I keep thinking about and not doing:))

A friend of mine who works in a gym on programs for people etc once said all I'd need to do to shift the weight is get on an exercise bike - put it in front of the tv so that you don't get too bored. Spend about 20 minutes on there, then spend a further 20 minutes on one of those mini trampolines try and do it everyday and build on the time doing it and hey presto! Never tried it myself though lol

Your going to look quite the beautiful bride! :) x

Thanks babe...

Actually, I'm missing exercise like you wouldn't believe - a week before I slipped (wet floor at work) I ran a half marathon.. And have had to watch 3 race numbers arrive since for other half marathons we'd entered and support h2b running them.. Can think of nothing more I'd rather do this afternoon than go out for a good 10 mile run!!!

However the doctors at the hospital have banned me from doing any form of exercise until I've had surgery - I can't even go in the sea on honeymoon as the swell in the sea will collapse out my knee.. :( Ahh well!!

u should be able to lose that inch in no time, u will look great on your wedding day no matter what.
Can u not try swimming in an ordinary pool, i know when i was waiting for an operation on my knee doc told me no exercise but swimming is fine.. was a long time ago tho, ask your doc, it may help :D

Thanks lancslass, I hope so.. I know three weeks is a long time in this diet - but it doesn't stop you worrying over something important as this!!

I might ask my physio if I can have another go at swimming, I tried 4 weeks ago and it really set me back again.. I asked a couple of weeks ago and the answer was still "not yet" but that might have changed now!

Thanks babe...

Sorry Sunflower, I remember you saying up there about your poorly knee now, I wasn't thinking straight. A wet floor at work, crikey that must be painful! We'll forget about the whole exercise thing then! Swimming sounds like a good option like LancsLass said, coz it wouldn't be so much pressure on your knee would it? I remember when my mums had knee ops before she was recommended to go swimming to build up the muscle again.
I still honestly believe you can reach your goal of getting into that dress by sticking to 790 though. I guess as icemoose says, drink to shrink!! lol. Hope you have an awesome time before, during and after the wedding. x x

I would certainly not exercise in case it sets you back even more for the wedding......! I am sure the diet will work for you........put pictures around the house of that 1 inch and focus......!
Good luck

OH NO YOU DONT! Not now! I've been reading your threads for a while now. You are so excited about this wedding and have been working so hard to get the day that you want. Now is not the time to start doubting yourself!
You can shift that inch no probs! Dont worry yourself sick. You want to enjoy your special day when it arrives, not collapse with relief that it is finally over.
I challenge you to look (and feel) fantabulous! You know you want to!
Go for it girlie.
I agree with sonkie, stick pictures up everywhere just to motivate you when the going gets tough.
And if, for whatever reason there is still a little bit of sucking in required....get the most industrial strength suckie innie pants that you can.(you can always slip into something a little more glam when freshening up on the wedding night!)
Best of luck. Think beautiful bride!

Thank you Ceri... It's not so much that I'm doubting myself - or even the diet as I do believe in both.. It's the amount of time I have left that's concerning me - I'm losing and losing and losing and the dress still wont fit... Am a bit anxious it might not fit by the day..

I've done a big chart of how nuch weight I want to lose by the day and will fill it in each morning.. Sticking to the diet will not be a problem - even on my hen day on saturday I will be ignoring all the champagne and strawberries they give us when we get there, it would be lovely but not as lovely as the photos will look when my dress fits!!! (IF!!!!!!!!!)

Please post pics of your special day after the event. Cant wait to see you in your dress (fitting perfectly!)
Ceri

((hugs)) Keep focused chick and you WILL be able to do it, look how well you have already done. Hope you are feeling a bit more positive today. I for one am dying to see you looking all glam in your wedding pics!

Thank you both of you..

xx
