Heartburn

Does anyone else suffer with heartburn whilst on TFR, I am suffering quite badly in an evening maybe 3-4 times a week. Is there anything that I can take for it?

Heartburn/Reflux

I suffer very bad heartburn when I eat normally and it's completely disappeared since I've been on LT. I can only guess it's down to the stomach producing less acid, as I'm eating less. I get a hint of it though when I have a flapjack late at night, say around 9pm and then go to bed.

As for your complaint, your stomach should be producing less acid cause it's getting less food so maybe you should mention it to your parmacist, as you could have an ulcer - not being dramatic or anything but it's better be safe than sorry.

yes i think maybe go to the doctor and have it checked out.. i remember the last time i was on lt i had it but i just put it down to the shakes! hopefully itll stop soon x

Those flapjacks are heavy enough to give anyone indigestion and if you go to bed straight after eating one it's going to lie heavily on your chest and not go down to your stomach properly. I would wait a while before going to bed after one of those and wash it down well with plenty of water.....

Yea i get heart burn sometimes too. Not as often as u but ur not d only one. Xxxx

SandraB, you really don't like the flapjacks one bit do you?:D

Moi? whatever gave you that idea????

Nah, I'd rather eat cat litter!

Thank you for your answers, it seems to be after I have had my last shake and if I have my lunchtime one at 4pm ish and then the last one at 8ish! Otherwise I'm ok, I know in the ideal situation would be to have them at earlier times but sometimes unable to due to work and travelling. Can't stand the flapjacks and still 100% so not food related

I always get really really bad heart burn on tfr but never in 'real life' so i know it must be something to do with shakes.. i was advised peppermint tea before.. but nothing works. I did have a sip of skimmed milk at one stage to try and ease it, but it comes bk.

I get heartburn everytime on tfr. I suffer with acid reflux though so thats maybe why. Chemist told me to take gaviscon, so long as its sugar free your fine. HTH.

Yep, I get horrid heartburn on tfr. If I eat the choc pack as a mousse (the only one I've tried as a mousse incidentally), I literally get a burn with each bit I swallow! I've been taking a Ranitidine for it most evenings :(

xx
