:wave_cry:hi - If I'm not posting in the right place, someone please tell me.

i've been heavy all my life, at 5ft 7inches, a size 24 is just too big. sorry I can't state my weight - scales are a no-no - way too depressing. when my trousers are a size 12, i'll know i'm the correct weight.

Food has been a problem most of my life although i've been pretty much craving free for a while, and losing, but slowly.

i look forward to chatting w all you other dieters.

cheers - sirena

Good Luck :)

Hi Sirena, the fact is you are losing weight so don't focus so much on thinking it is 'slowly'. For many of us our eating habits are ingrained.

You know how to walk, you do it without thinking, but imagine if you now had to walk everywhere backwards? It would be quite difficult wouldn't it? Same thing with losing weight we have to re educate our brains about our eating habits.

Sounds like you are 'going it alone' with your eating plan/diet. If that is working for you, then brilliant. If you think you need something more structured or want to join a club there are loads of different diets/health plans on here if you have a good look. I must admit there are lots of diets I've never heard of and it is very interesting to see what works for different people.

Good luck in however you are doing it, and well done for making a change in your life. x

Hi and welcome to the forum. have you decided on a diet or a plan to follow? or will you make up your own rulles? theres great sections here on various diets, this place really does help when trying to loose weight.

i recommend reading the diaries for inspiration, why not do your own diary? my fitness pal has some handy calculators and tips which is worth a look.

sometimes we eat just out of habit, and its breaking the habits thats half the battle.ive been drinking 1.5 litres of water a day (volvic with a touch of orange is my fav) i find that carrying the bottle with me helps, and helped to train my brain into thinking im not hungry...if i feel it i have some water and wait half an hour, usually the feeling to eat passes.

i dont look as im on a diet, but more of a complete lifestyle change,as for me this is for the rest of my life..

wish you luck in your new healthier life :D
