do you think it would be ok to use a little arrowroot to thicken sauces?

tonight i sautéed some mushrooms, poured on some cream and used about a tsp of arrowroot to thicken, tasted lovely, but is it allowed?

I'm having a senior moment, there is a thickener out there that is zero carb, I use it most weeks but do you think I can remember it!! It has a strange complex name.

That's it, thanks Lorna, :bliss: :bliss:

I hate it when you are trying desperately to remember something and it's lurking in the corner of your mind. :)

Ah well, at least in my case I can claim senior moments Lorna. :)

thanks for the info, where can i buy it from?
sorry not replied sooner, been away for the weekend, camping, having fun!

It's in the 'free from' aisle in our Tesco & someone told me it was in the same aisle in Sainburys.

Does anyone know how to add it? I know it sounds stupid, but I mixed it with a little water & it went like glue :(. I just stirred it around in the slow cooker & hope for the best. Should I just sprinkle it in?

Yes it's in the Freaks, Geeks and Weirdo's aisle.

I just sprinkle a little in Sharon, doesn't take much though so be careful, and I add it after boiling not before.

Thanks Jim. I did just add it for the last 15 mins in the slow cooker.
