hey guys!
i have a little problem! i've got friends flying over to visit me in two weeks and i havent seen them in ages so i know im gonna have a drink or two they will be here for a week and i told my pharmasist he suggested doing a refeed a few days before and then going back 100% for a few weeks after! he doesnt want me on tfr for much longer though and wants me to stop when my BMI is at 23 however i wouldnt mind being on until my BMI is 21 but i think i might have to lose the weight following GL diet instead!
anyway i just wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions should i do a refeed or should i try maintainance for the week?? i dont mind not losing any weight that week but i dont want to put any on!

Hi there,

You will definately need to refeed for a week before drinking alcohol as it can be very dangerous. If you refeed for a week, have a good time with your friends, and then you can either return to TFR or try maintainence products as they can be used to lose weight too

Charleys.. I read this on a forum recently.. Please tell me it isn't true:

"Also got a shock when she ran through food that i should avoid forever!! things like:

Bread
cheese - any other than cottage cheese
butter
porridge
special K - one of the worst cereals to have, cornflakes are much better
red meat

and this is just a few things she told me not to eat ever if i wish to maintain my weight!"

I honestly do not think i could go through the rest of my life never eating some (if not all) of them.. Could you please clarify this for me?

Thank you x x

Sorry for butting into your thread vanilly, but it has been worrying me x x

You can eat anything you like within reason once you are maintaing, there is no need to avoid bread etc etc. I have been maintaing for a while now, and I have what I want, but in small quantities, and not every day. I aim to be 'good' at least 80% of the time, allowing 20% for treats and nights out etc
As long as you don't return to the way you ate before lioptrim, and make sensible choices you will be fine!

No, I am at my goal and currently maintaining

OMG Clair, your stats are amazing, how are you enjoying being half the woman you were before? Is maintenance a nightmare?

Do tell!

Thanks ladies!

Yes, I'm loving being half the size I used to be! To begin with, maintainence can be pretty scary, but you soon learn what you need to maintain. I will always have to watch what I eat, but everything in moderation does you good!

I'm with Clair on that one. You can have what you want but in moderation. Watch portion sizes as it is easy to overeat. Eat more slowly and your brain will have time to realise that your tummy is full. You must follow the 80/20 rule and allow yourself some slack 20% of the time.
Vanilly, check out the refeed plan:

It is important to refeed properly before having alcohol. In addition, if you do not do a proper refeed, you may gain several pounds the first week. A proper refeed will avoid this.
It will be up to you to restart after your break. Some people find it tough and others fnd it o.k to restart after a break. Depends on your own frame of mind.

Hi Vanilly hope u are well prob best to refeed
then do some maintenence while ur friends here
hopefully you will feel like coming back to tfr
you don't hve alot of wt to loose now x

Someone posted it on here and when i read it i nearly fainted!!! lol x x

Life without occasional carbs is not worth living!!
Have been in hospital all day and they've been giving me cups of tea and toast!
Which i can't say I haven't enjoyed!

Wamser thanks for the support love! Don't worry I'll be back on with bells on! I'm gonna refeed this week maintain next week then be on Tfr for another month at the least! There's no way I'm coming off tfr until I'm at least ten and a half stone! It was great today when the nurse asked my weight and I said 11 and a half stone instead of 13.4! Hurray!!! I'm so much thinner!
How are you getting on??
