Slimming surgery

My belly this will be!
I think that it really depends on how heavy the patient is and what their options are... there can be major risks in both surgeries but most doctors prefer to recommend gastric bypass as it is tried and tested, so to speak, short term there is a much greater weight loss and long term the weight is more likely to stay off as opposed to the gastric band which can move or stretch so that the patient can eat almost as much as before in some cases. So generally the bypass is preferred especially by the NHS because there is less chance that they will have to do it again or change the band etc thus increasing the long term costs, once its done that's it done permanently if you know what I mean:) xxx
