Child car locks question

Does all cars automatically have these built in?

Is it just a matter of looking in the manual & switching them on??

It's a vauxhall astra if that helps.

Normally theres a little switch inside the door. If you open the door and then look along the edge where the lock is there is a little switch which can be moved into the child lock place.
On my car there was anyway!
