Dr Charles Clarke - advice?

nikkinack

One 100% day at a time!
Hi All!
Have started DCC last week, and have lost 3lbs already which I am happy with. I'm just wondering on a couple of things though:
-Can you substitute the 17g for your 1 slice of allowed bread/day for something else with equal or lesser carb content? IE - small portion of rice or pasta, small kit kat perhaps?
-I make cheese sauce with 1/2 tbsp of flour in it - Makes enough for 4 servings - do you think this is ok?

Anyhow thanks for listening - any advice/tips would be hugely appreciated!:D

Not sure how may of you out there are doing this - but good luck:)

Cheers!
Nikkinack

Hi Nikkinack, I haven't heard of DCC, but good luck with your diet. Hope you find some DCC buddies on here too xx

Hey!

Thanks for the message! DCC= Dr Charles Clarke - kind of like Atkins, but a bit more lenient.

Not sure if this helps - sorry, I'm an abbreviation kind of girl. Oops!

Cheers!

Hiya Nikki, are you still using DCC? Have you got either of his two books? The High Protein Diet and one that followed allowed small amounts of fruit, rice, pasta etc. Both have loads of yummy recipies!

Im not familiar with DCC, but i would suggest you stay away from anything with actual sugar in it like the kitkat, it converts too quickly to glucose. Although, if you wanted chocolate then good quality dark chocolate (green and blacks organic for instance) would be ok as it converts much slower to glucose. I would think though that substituting it for a small amount of rice or pasta should be ok for the equivalent amount of carbs, brown rice is probably better than pasta.

How many carbs a day can you have on DCC?
