Scrapbook idea

At the meeting last week, we had a leader from another area come and take over while our leader was still on holiday.

She told us about a member she has that has made a scrapbook using recipes that she had cut out from those little magazines that you get given each week at your WIs.

Well I really liked that idea, but was thinking of taking it one step further.

I've decided to get a book (probably one with lined pages) and I'm going to have a section for eating out (places we go like the beach, so my hubby knows the points for those doughnut he really love)

A section for meals (one for breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner, and one for snacks and maybe a section for 0 pointed food) An a section for items we regularly buy at the shops. It will all just be centred around food we eat of-course.

And then I still want a section for some of those recipes they give you at meetings, so I can stick them in, and a notes section at the back.

So what do you think, has anyone already done this, and has anyone got any other suggestions for things I might have missed out that could go in this book..

sounds like a fab idea! i kind of already do it, i have my book i write my food diary in everyday, and then at the back i have my goals, i have a 0 point food list, i have a few of my favourite foods that i eat regularly and their point value, i have my own 'snack swap list' i wrote down my old faves like maltesers (4points) swap for curly wurly (2.5), and recipes that i have adapted with points, ones i have cut out from magazines, or printed off.
you could also add before pics in it maybe? to keep you motivated, or goals, maybe a holiday you want to slim down for? you could cut out pics from holiday brochures? or a dress/outfit you would love to wear? maybe some inspirational quotes?

my family laugh at me but inside my kitchen unit i have pictures of lovely models in dresses and my face stuck on to them,,they really make me laugh when i see them and as im getting closer to goal it WILL be me instead of the model in the dress soon!!!

Thanks *pinkprincess*, they all sound like great ideas, especially like the inspirational quotes bit and the snack swap list you've done.

Adding those to the list..

You know doing this is also keeping me focused and helping me to loose weight, having the meals already pointed for me a jotted down, will help stop me from just whipping something up last minute, then saying after I've eaten it, 'oh god how many points was that'.

Well this may sound really sad, but I actually like the style of clothing that Ellen DeGeneres wears (don't ask why) so every time I see pics of her, I say to myself, that's what size I would like to be (or at least be close to)

Maybe I should put a pic of her at the back of the scrapbook

i find the snack swap really really useful-when im feeling like snacking i look at my list and can easily find something i fancy-i always thought maltesers were ok to eat-but now instead i choose something more healthy and less points. and its much easier if you group the things, so you wouldnt write ice cream-swap for yoghurt, i put swap for sorbet (if that makes sense lol!)
the inspiration quotes are great too, when your having a bad day, or you have gone a bit off the rails, just look at them and pull yourself back up!
xx

I've never tried the snack swap before, and to be honest this is the first time I have come across it before

Might actually put that in a seperate little book that I can keep in the car, or in my bag, so its always to hand. It will come in handy when going shopping on Friday/Saturday as I often like to grab myself a treat, something to munch on the way home (i.e maltesers)

lol-i havent seen it anywhere else either, but it really works for me!
