Some holiday advice please

Hi all. Im going on (a surprise) holiday next week Mon - Fri to see some friends who have recently moved to Gibraltar.

I'll be in week 5 and I'm going to take my lipotrim with me as i don't want to break the programme but i can guarantee they'll want to go out for a meal on our last night as we probably won't see each other again for a few years and it's also my husbands birthday the next day.

Whilst i'm genuinely not worried about eating out (i'd happily have a sparkling water and my shake) can anyone suggest something i could have should i decide to eat with them so that i don't completely knock myself out of ketosis etc?

I was wondering if a ham salad or something like that might be suitable (no carbs), I'm enjoying doing lipotrim and probably will stick to it as i'm too strong willed not to, but i want a back up just in case i do change my mind. :)

I won't be touching alcohol though as i never drink when i'm on holiday and obviously i can't as i'm on lipotrim!

Thanks
Cath.

Well done for making the decision to stick to LT whilst on holiday, I know that I couldn't!

I'd suggest a chicken salad Atkins style type meal to keep you in ketosis... x

If you can, stay 100% and stick to the fizzy waters and coffee during the meal. If you want to be polite at the table order a salad and just move it around the plate a little!!!!

I'm with Molly on this one, I've been out 3 or 4 times in the last fortnight and just stuck with the water, no-one minds and if they love you then they'll understand and support you. Personally I'd be worried that even tasting real food again would seriously interfere with my mind-set....but that's just me!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do and have a great time regardless!

Hi I was at two meals one on Sat night and one yest afternoon
I actually had the peanut flapjacks with coffee and water not the
nicest but did the job nobody really noticed I
didn't have any food X

Thanks everyone for the advice. Well I've been on hols and I'm back. Before going I spoke to my nurse about this one before and she suggested that I have a meal that follows the Atkins diet/refeeding guide if i wanted one as just the one wouldn't hurt.

Sooooo, We went out for my hubbys birthday Thurday night and I ordered a fillet steak (as the nurse suggested) and that was it - it was all i could eat. It had no fat etc and as i couldn't eat the whole thing, my husband and friend finished it between them.

I haven't eaten anything else since (or before) and haven't felt any hunger pangs. I think it helped that i had the sole intention that if i was to have a meal it would be just that one and nothing else! (I sort of looked forward to it too as a very special treat).

I weighed myself yesterday as i wasn't back in time for my weekly weigh in at the doctors and according to my scales i've lost approx 4lbs. So fingers crossed for next friday back to my usual weigh ins!

thanks again all
Cath.
