Beef Casserole

I wonder if anybody could help. I want to make a casserole in my slow cooker but normally thicken the stock with bisto as hubbby doesnt like tomatoes. Obviously bisto is synned so can anyone advise how to thicken it with out bisto ( and not to many sysn )?

I use a smash, just mix in a couple of spoonfuls, it will be free on EE :)
