Syn free houmous recipe

Syn free Hummus

Using a food processor blitz together:

1 can drained chickpeas (reserve the water)
2 garlic cloves
juice of 1/2 lemon
2 or 3 tbsp very low fat yog /fromage frais / 0% etc
pinch cayenne pepper (just a pinch!)

If it is too thick use some of the reserved chickpea water a tbsp at a time to thin it.

This makes a lovely hummus style dip - free on green, and this makes lots! Store, covered, in the fridge.

If you want to make it even more like hummus, you need to add 2 tbsp tahini paste which counts as your Healthy Extra B choice if following the Green plan

There was a very similar one in the magazine last time too, along with a yummy aubergine dip which I'm having for supper.

this should really be posted in the recipe section for future posts please. :) the mods will move this so that's where you'll find it!

Wow Sweet potato houmous looks yummy!! Have been cringing every time I take a bite of my crudites with Tesco's Red Pepper Pesto houmous. Really excited about this 'cringe-free' recipe :)
